The Saudi-led coalition will now begin a new phase, titled 'Operation Restoring Hope', according to the statement of the Saudi defense ministry.
Saudi-led coalition operations in Yemen are now entering a political phase. The airstrikes have eliminated all threats against the kingdom and the neighboring countries through the destruction of the heavy arms and ballistic missiles that were seized by the Houthi militias and pro-Saleh forces, according to a statement by the defense ministry.
A coalition spokesman said the decision to end operation Firmness Storm followed a request from the Yemeni government.

‘Operation Restoring Hope’
I would have picked a name with a different history.

Video shows massive explosion rocking Yemen's capital after Saudi-led airstrikes
Interesting development. If, as expected, they don’t fight well or are routed, it is not an exaggeration to say that the Saudi royals could be deposed. The veneer of stability is thin and only possible because of enormous oil wealth. The Saudi royals (who financed, motivated and are responsible for 9/11) are decadent and will be swept away by the storms of the “Arab Spring”. Islamic culture is simply not compatible with the institutions, values and practices of modernity. It is this forced confrontation with modernity that is causing the stresses, chaos and painful transformations (much of which is reactionary and self defeating) that is sweeping through the Muslim world.
“The reality is that despite huge expenditures procuring military ordinance, the Saudi army is an untested and unreliable ground force. The Saudi royals have absolutely no confidence that the rank and file will fight well or risk all to fight for the kingdom. The Saudis were unable to recruit the Pakistanis to fight in Yemen and apparently the Egyptians, despite the huge Saudi subsidies to their economy, did not agree to fight. It would not be an easy battle against the motivated Shiite tribesmen.”

Bingo.
“The coalition will continue to prevent the movement of Houthi militias from moving or undertaking any operations inside Yemen,” Asseri told reporters in the Saudi capital Riyadh.
The announcement suggests military action by the Sunni Muslim states against the Iran-allied rebels may continue despite the announcement earlier of an end to the almost month-long military campaign.

Saudi king orders troops to join Yemen campaign
http://www.cbsnews.com/news/saudi-arabia-king-salman-national-guard-yemen-iran-houthi-rebels/
Saudi Arabia’s King Salman has ordered the country’s National Guard — considered the Kingdom’s best trained and equipped military force — to join the military campaign against Iranian-backed Shiite rebels in neighboring Yemen.
National Guard troops had already deployed along Saudi Arabia’s southern border with Yemen, but the order from Salman on Tuesday could pave the way for a long-discussed ground incursion into Yemen to confront the rebels, known as Houthis.
The Saudi-led coalition pounded Shiite rebels in Yemen on Tuesday, killing 20 in a city in the country’s west as the civilian death toll rose to 38 from airstrikes the day before in the capital, Sanaa, officials said.
The National Guard is under command of a separate ministry in the Saudi power structure, answering directly to the monarchy, whereas the Air Force and the Land Force — the only military branches deployed in the Yemen campaign until Tuesday — are under the command of the Defense Ministry.
Big Bump, the Saudis are toast with out the US Army, Navy and Air Force propping them up. Looks like the one has no intention of propping them up. There best move is to entrench at home keeping their power dry. Kuwaitis must be shaking in their boots. In fact things are looking really bad for the "Gulf States" and the US dollar.
All in all looks like a great opportunity for China to secure access to middle east oil.
Saudi Arabias King Salman Abdulaziz ordered on Tuesday that the Kingdoms National Guard take part in the military campaign against Houthi militias in Yemen, Al Arabiya News Channel reported.
Minister of the Saudi National Guard Prince Mutaib bin Abdullah said his forces are on high alert and are ready to take part in Operation Decisive Storm, a Saudi-led coalition of 10 states battling the advance of the Iran-backed rebels.
The National Guard is honored to answer the call to join their brothers and colleagues in other military bodies, Prince Mutaib was quoted by Al Arabiya as saying.
The guard is a trained army of 100,000 men, divided into infantry units, mechanised brigades, special units and military police.
Once again if it comes down to sending boots on the ground in a foreign nation there are only 2 or 3 countries on earth that can do it...
The US Navy is ‘shadowing’ from the front, aka ensuring safe passage.
That not bombing!
This is bombing. Dresden (1945) after three days of heavy bombardment by the RAF and USAAC.
lol
I used to live in Yemen. This won't be like invading Russia or Germany.
I’m confused are the Saudis (really) ending their engagement in Yeman or not? I should have looked for another source before commenting. Too much disinformation these days.
Obama, according to the sycophant media in America. has asked the Saudis to stop the bombing.
Now it is clear: the Saudis were going to stop anyway. This Kabuki theatre was all done to make it look like Obama has influence. What a joke.
I think not.
I think Saudi's won't have as much trouble as some seem to suggest, given that they won't mind shooting innocent Yemenis if in the way of Houthis.
I miss the days when operations were just named for random things as code words, instead of turning them into branding and marketing tools. During WW2, the invasion of Sicily was Operation Husky. Now it would be "Operation Everlasting Virtue" or something.
Operation Secure New Status Quo.
The gears on the world slowly begin to shift...
Operation Endless Breadsticks.
