To me, Senator Cruz is near perfect on the issues. Governor Walker is nearly perfect. Walker has an advantage, in my opinion, of going toe to toe with the left in Wisconsin...and beating them!
What a candidate says is important, but I think their track record is even more important. That said, I have no problem with Cruz or Walker, negative reports notwithstanding.
Cruz is ideologically topnotch, but I honestly don’t know how well he leads. Can he put together the right team to accomplish what he wants? I don’t know.
I’m not meaning to belittle Senator Cruz at all. I’m only pointing out that his single term as a senator is less than I would like. For all I know he’s the next Reagan, but Reagan also proved his chops as a governor.
Walker has been a real light weight when it comes to policy larger than the state level, like immigration and foreign policy.
We need a leader across the board. Cruz better fits that bill in my opinion.
Obama is one of the greats, at least with respect to pushing through his agenda. Obamacare is the now the law of the land. He has driven several coal companies into bankruptcy and may see the majority of US coal producers liquidate by the end of his second term. He has instituted an executive amnesty, and only an intrepid federal judge's action managed to slow it down. He is on the verge of nuclearizing the Middle East, while Congress looks on. Overall, I'd give Obama an A for accomplishing a great deal of what he set out to do. For the Democratic left, Obama will be mentioned in the same breath as FDR and Wilson. That his accomplishments are not beneficial for the country is a separate issue. FDR wasn't good for the country, but he accomplished a good chunk of his wide-ranging agenda.
Pandering governors are no more principled than pandering senators. All the above have different stands on the various issues for different audiences.
Not so with Obama. He never intended to get along with anyone; not in the state legislature, not in the Senate, and not as President.

That is a true statement, but if all things were equal, then who would be better suited?
Besides, you have to take some points away when a Governor who wants to increase his chances says that someone else is not as qualified. I like Perry but he hasn't shown me anything to indicate he would be as capable as Cruz, much less more capable.
Right now, my "dream ticket" would be Cruz/Walker. My second choice would be Walker/Cruz. I would be a bit disappointed if Cruz didn't make it but still content if Walker managed to pull it off if Cruz stumbles.
Ted Cruz is consistently conservative. He understands conservative principles, and he has the ability to articulate those principles, even to people who wish to hear some pandering (like the Iowa farmers over the fuel subsidies issue).
People slopping at the government trough need to be informed that their slopping habits are no more justified than those of any other government-dependent group.
Obama has gotten a good chunk of what he wanted to accomplish. He just couldn't do anything legislatively after 2010. And for that we should be grateful. Please do not confuse conservative objectives with liberal ones. For Obama, preventing gay marriage isn't an achievement - it's a setback. Ditto for just about the entire conservative laundry list.
Reagan used to be able to cobble together legislation with conservative Democrats because these Democrats were in many cases more conservative than their Northeastern Republicans, and in some cases, as conservative* as the most conservative of Republicans. Today, there is no Democrat to the right of even the most liberal Republican in either chamber of Congress.
* Many of them became Republicans or were replaced by Republicans when they retired, often with the endorsements of the retiring conservative Democrats.
“It still boggles my mind that a completely inexperienced guy like Barack Obama can be elected president”.........
Having nothing to do with “experience”, there is a pretty simple answer. First, you give everything you can away to the existing street rat “gimmedats and welfare losers. Second, you INVITE every person you can to come across our borders so they too, can join the ranks of the “gimmedats” with but one major requirement for both types, they MUST all vote demodummie FOREVER. Kind of like “flooding the market” with No experience required.
I agree experience is important but I reject all of these governors: Perry, Bush III, Walker, Christie.
So, Cruz, Rubio, Rand, and the baker’s dozen of other wanna be candidates? I’ll go with Cruz.
The flithy queer leftists at Salon won’t convince me to support jeb bush or chris christie.
When Obama inserted himself into proceedings, he tended to muck things up. He made the decision to go alone because he can't work with others, and now he knows that he was successful in racially polarizing the nation to the point where nobody is willing to risk challenging him.

Obamacare was definitely not Obama’s work. It was mostly written before he was even elected. It’s ridiculous to believe Obamacare was the president’s own handiwork. He just took (dis)credit for it.
No FTGs.
Walker faced only one recall. He also won two general elections.
I think he was only the third governor in US history to face recall, and he won it handily.
You Nailed It!
And we need leaders not bumper sticker quotes.
I don’t know how you clarify that any further.
It is what it is.
I’m told for hours that he’s a change man. I’m ridiculed and asked what do I want, after all he’s changed. Then we find out he’s not so changed after all. In fact, he hasn’t changed at all.
First of all, I’m sorry I went a little overboard with my comments last night. So I’ll apologize to you and the few others I insulted.
None the less, you heard his interview. You beat me over the head last night with the “fact” Walker had changed on immigration.
He hasn’t. The video clip made that crystal clear.
Now you’re here trying to move off that to other things he has done. And I agree, some of them were good.
That doesn’t change the reality of the interview.
Don’t you think you owe me an apology too?
