¿Quien es más Hispano? Rubio, Cruz, Castro or Bush
The Austin American Statesman ^ | April 20, 2015 | Jonathan Tilove

Good morning Austin:

I had a story in Saturday’s paper on the startling fact that, with Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio, two of the first three announced candidates for the Republican presidential nomination for president are Hispanic.

In other words, if America elects its first Latino president in 2016, that president would almost certainly be a Republican.

Meanwhile, on the Democratic side, at best there could be a Hispanic candidate for vice president, with most of the speculation concentrated on Julián Castro, the former San Antonio mayor who is now serving as President Obama’s secretary of housing and urban development.

From that story:

No sooner had Hillary Clinton tweeted her intention last Sunday to seek the presidency than the speculation began that Julián Castro — bright, young and Hispanic — might be her ideal running mate in 2016.

“Julián Castro: Is He The Perfect Latino VP For Hillary Clinton?” asked the Los Angeles Times in its headline.

Or, as the Christian Science Monitor put the question, “Hillary Clinton-Julián Castro 2016: an already inevitable Democratic ticket?”

The instant hype about Clinton-Castro was soon eclipsed by Florida’s U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio’s announcement Monday in Miami that he was running for president, becoming the third big-name Republican to formally declare his candidacy and the second GOP Hispanic, along with fellow Cuban-American U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, to join the race.

Suddenly, the party with the supposed “Hispanic problem” had two rising young Hispanic stars in the presidential race. And, if nothing else, the Cruz and Rubio candidacies highlight the Democrats’ “Hispanic problem” — they have no Hispanic candidates playing at that level.

“What does that say? In my mind it says that the Republican Party is the party of opportunity for Latinos....

[What defines “scripture”?]

All Scripture is God-breathed and has never been refuted.

It is authored by Jesus Christ, Who is the Word. (John 1) Each Book is God-breathed through God’s chosen vessels, mighty men of God, who were directed by the Holy Spirit.

With all due respect, I see nothing where Jesus authored these books. Most were written 50 to 100 years after he rose from the dead. Show me where Jesus wrote any of these books in the New Testament. If they have errors ,like Matthew 1 vs Luke 3:23 which one was right?

[I see nothing where Jesus authored these books.]

JESUS is the Word. All Scripture is inspired through the Word.

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome[a] it.

the “word ‘inspired the Word.? Which books do you see as having been left out 363 years after Christ birth when the Council of Laodicea did it’s thing? Were they God Breathed? Should one worship the Bible? After the Council, many books were questioned— Hebrews, John 1 and 2 ( neither written by John). Especially James!! BTW Are we saved by works or Saved as a gift by grace through belief in Christ as the Son Of God? Cant be both ways. Even Revelation was not accepted by many scholars. In fact John is not believed to be written by John. Over 3000 manuscripts were rejected by the council. Were they “God Breathed?

Jesus is the Word, the Word is God. All Scripture is given by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. I accept that by faith.

That sums up what I believe.

Read the Bible. Ask the Holy Spirit to give you understanding. Start with an easy translation and go from there. There are sites where you can read the Bible online. Here’s a good one.

If you are earnestly seeking the Truth, you will find it. Once you know what you believe you’ll go to the right church.

Some people spend a lifetime trying to prove God, and miss the reason why they were created - to love the Lord with all their heart, mind, soul, and strength. That is the blessed life.

[Good luck.]

There is no such thing as luck. God has a purpose for this world. Everything that happens in our lives is somewhat a part of that plan. There are no random or chance happenings.
