If I were in HR, anyone participating in or supporting this idiocy would be automatically disqualified from employment. The proper response to their claims to feel threatened by the mere suggestion that differing views on various subjects exist is, “You know, unreasoning fear of anything unusual is called xenophobia, and is a treatable psychological disorder. Perhaps you should get some medical help.”
You raise a valid point about these delicate creatures. In any form of executive or professional employment an individual will have to confront the sincerely held beliefs of others and try to persuade them to go along with his or her views. After thirty some odd years of practicing law, I say such confrontations are inevitable, especially within one’s own organization or group when trying to decide how to deal whit a new challenge or problem. When a college allows and encourages students to infantilize themselves that way it denies them a vital part of the educations they are there for, since they need to learn to confront and deal with others on a voluntary, free basis.
There is just one problem. The HR departments have now been infiltrated with these zampolits.
