Rubio has $40 million.

hmmm.

I wonder how much of that is hype to overshadow Cruz having $34 million last week?

[That sounded skeptical. I have been reading/listening to media too much. Does that report have a Brian Williams byline?]

this is just the ante. To stay in the game they’re going to need much much more, and then the herd will thin out...

exactly.

Basically ONE Billionaire coughed up (or promised to cough up) $40 million so Rubio could appear to be as strongly supported as Cruz.

While Cruz got donations from millions of supporters.

That is a very valid observation and you should be skeptical when it comes to political fundraising gamesmanship. The proof will be in the next quarterly reports from the Super PACs to the FEC, but they aren't due until mid July. There are at least four Super PACs friendly to Cruz and created after he announced that will be reporting (Keep the Promise PAC, Keep the Promise I/II/III).
