Its is a vividly accurate, cutting-edge film about one of the most shockingly misunderstood wars in American history and it took Westminster, California, by storm when it premiered there this month, selling more than $30,000 in tickets in just three days during its limited release at a single movie theater.
Overall, the film brought in $50,923 in a week of showings at the Regency Westminster 10 theater from March 27 to April 2.
The film profits will support four charities: Semper Fi Fund, Agape International Missions, Field of Dreams and Allegiant Giving.
Ive been waiting 40 years for this film! was a common refrain among the Vietnam War veterans and the South Vietnamese Americans most with tears streaming down their faces who gathered to witness their powerful story finally making it onto the big screen at the wildly popular premiere of Ride the Thunder: A Vietnam War Story of Victory and Betrayal.

Cronkite was a liar, and a communist, and a traitor ... and he had plenty of company at ABCNBCCBS.
IIRC the Swiftboat Vets revealed that Jean F’ing Kerry spent four months in country & then DEROSd by Navy regs using three iffy Purple Heart awards.
I thought you did your year in RVN unless KIA, wounded, or court martialed. It’s what I did anyway.
Would like to see this new movie. Nothing truthful out of Hollywood yet.
Might be fun. {:0)
Hope you’re well.
It's the same old story, isn't it. And it has been going on since 1953.
It's a wonder we even still have a country left. But maybe they can fix that soon, too.
Commie Cronkite was the reason that America soured on the war, and the reason young Americans started hating the military.
But, we lost that war because after Nixon ended it, with a ceasefire agreement, the Democrat Congress basically DENIED our allies of any of the assistance and support which Nixon promised in the ceasefire. Once North Vietnam realized that America wasn’t going to actually support and defend our “ally,” they swooped in and raped, killed, maimed, and murdered - AT WILL!
I've ordered the book.
Jean Jaques Servan-Schreiber nailed it. We won on the battlefield but were outflanked in the media, thanks to Kronkite and others, and on our college campuses. There Ho Chi Minh outflanked LBJ.
