Former Gov. Jeb Bush and Sen. Marco Rubio are both from Florida and could make for an effective GOP ticket. But the Constitution makes things tricky.
When political handicappers blue-sky about the 2016 GOP presidential ticket, they generally rule out an all-Florida ticket former Gov. Jeb Bush and Sen. Marco Rubio. There are constitutional reasons that make it complicated but not impossible. And in some ways, a Bush-Rubio ticket may make sense.
Lets start with the positives: In a competitive presidential race, the Republicans cannot win without winning Florida. Its the third most populous state in the country, with 29 electoral votes. Its also the biggest battleground state.
So if you absolutely need Florida, why not double down on Florida-ness?

Bush can NOT win.
That’s why the Dems want to run against him.
A loser-loser ticket.
Bingo! Which is why the LSM is pushing him..calling him GOP front-runner, only one who could beat Hillary etc..
They’re choosing the GOP candidate! Like they did with McStain & Romney.
Won’t happen, because they play the Electoral College game and will need another ‘state’ on the ticket, should JBush get the nomination.
More likely [not that it is better for conservatives]:
Bush-Kasich - that gets Florida and Ohio.
Possibly:
Bush-Christie - that could put NJ in play.

Jebster is still not polling very well in many states. He may turn out to be too much of the ‘old’ politics, similar to Hillary. Both could be dumped early by the voters.
When is Rubio going to switch parties?
Answer: Whenever that is the most politically expedient thing for him to do.
A Hillary/Bush ticket is more probable!
Jeb Bush is for amnesty for illegal immigrants, Common Core in the schools and just came out supporting that Eric-Holder-in-a-pantsuit, Lorreta Lynch, for attorney general. She says she's not inclined to investigate Hillary Clinton and the destroyed state department emails, she is against Voter ID and she is the biggest abuser of the asset forfeiture laws in the justice department. A loser on all counts. He also presented Hillary Clinton the Liberty Medal award in 2013 on the one year anniversary of the disastrous and tragic Benghazi attacks. He might as well be a democRAT, or at minimum, he would be another John McLame.
Rubio could be a keeper but Jeb Bush should follow his mama's advice and not run. He's barking up the wrong tree.
That ticket would cement my ass to the couch on election day.
Rubio is as much pro-amnesty as JEB.
No thanks to both.
So if it came down to a choice between Rubio and Clinton in the general election, who would you vote for? And don't tell me that you are principled and would stay at home waiting for another Reagan to come along, like some did in the last election and gave Obama another four years in which to further destroy America. We can't afford Hillary Clinton, who'll do more of the same. I would vote for Rubio in a heartbeat to keep Hillary out of the White House.
But seriously, I'm keeping my powder dry for Cruz-Palin.
You're right. If it's Rubio V Clinton, (and I want Cruz) I'm NOT staying home.
That's right, unlike pro-amnesty turds like Rubio, Perry, etc, I am principled. You should feel free to vote for Rubio or for the pro-ILLEGAL alien turd of your choosing. It's almost a certainty they will be relying on it.
Better yet a Clinton/Bush ticket for 2016 - no one can tell the difference...
Bush/Walker is much more likely.
Yep, the GOP has a penchant for destroying its own chances.
Move out to where you can make a difference instead of pointing the finger at me for trying to save the Republic instead just accepting the radical liberal the democRATS are foisting on us.
The rationale of cutting your nose off to spite your face never struck me as a great game plan to follow.
People like you who will vote for treasonous Republicans in spite of their treasonous ways embolden those who would turn on the base. Why should they stay true to an ideology when liberal Republicans will vote for them regardless?
Have a nice day.
There’s no firm constitutional bar against electing Harold Stassen next year, but I don’t see that happening either.
Accept it or not.
