Yes I agree. I’m not a scientist or mathematician, but this is all very logical. That’s where I approach it from.

Aye, one less cool fact that was not brought up. Although the actual velocity of the ship relative to a “fixed” point to in space remained virtually unchained, energy was transfered, and with conservation of energy and momentum, doing the sums, indicates just a little bit of energy was exchanged between the ship and the planet, and as a result of this interaction, the planets rotation will slow just a wee little bit
