No idea of what Alaska’s procedure’s are, but “snoozing” in the bin isn’t all that unusual.
The guy was probably assigned to the forward bin for carry on’s, and fell asleep waiting. It isn’t that hard to lose track of someone in the hustle and bustle rush of the same crew working three or four aircraft at a time.
Last I knew, Alaska uses Contract Ground at SEA, so this likely isn’t an official Alaska Airlines Employee.
I’ll bet they add a “Clear before closing” step to the official procedure for whoever backs off the belt loader and closes the bins.
