A Los Angeles-bound Alaska Airlines flight made an emergency landing at a Seattle-area airport on Monday afternoon after it took off with a worker trapped in a cargo area under the cabin where he had fallen asleep, the U.S. carrier said.
The pilot of Alaska Airlines flight 448 reported hearing banging from beneath the aircraft after takeoff from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, south of Seattle, the statement said.
Screaming could also be heard from the cargo hold, an airport spokesman said.

Sorry, that’s not correct. They do transport pets in the cargo bays, and liquids and other things that would be ruined by freezing.
He probably won’t need a stool softener tonight.
First thing I thought of was Indiana Jones saying “No Ticket”.
“That must have been a real oh crap moment when the guy woke from his nap to the scream of turbofans at full power.”
No idea of what Alaska’s procedure’s are, but “snoozing” in the bin isn’t all that unusual.
The guy was probably assigned to the forward bin for carry on’s, and fell asleep waiting. It isn’t that hard to lose track of someone in the hustle and bustle rush of the same crew working three or four aircraft at a time.
Last I knew, Alaska uses Contract Ground at SEA, so this likely isn’t an official Alaska Airlines Employee.
I’ll bet they add a “Clear before closing” step to the official procedure for whoever backs off the belt loader and closes the bins.
“He probably thought he was going to die at altitude, and didnt know it was pressurized”
But heated only to about 7 degrees centigrade.
“But heated only to about 7 degrees centigrade.”
If he runs around in the cargo hold fast enough he can stay warm!
Idiots like that don’t get embarrassed.
Union worker taking a nap? Accepted break routine but picked the wrong plane?
Some of these planes sit for a while, others get turned around in a half hour
Depends on where. They don’t climate control the hold that takes dead folks in the shipping container for out of state burial.
They aren’t all heated. And the ones that are can fail. Had a dead dog as a result in it’s carrier, and we had paid to light sedate before, so no compensation.
“Napping”
Uh-huh. /s
