WIBC-FM 93.1 is pulling the plug on "The Rush Limbaugh Show," a vastly popular program with conservative talk-radio fans and one of the most listened to in this market since it began airing on the station 22 years ago.
The show's last airing on WIBC is set for July 3.
Officials for WIBC parent Emmis Communications this month notified Los Angeles-based syndicator Premiere Networks that it would not extend its deal to air Limbaughs show.

Lol, they’ll be worried about it when they get their ratings opposite Rush and calculate the advertising rates they can charge.
They plan to retain their conservative format and use some local talker to compete against Rush and build a younger audience for the future. If younger people want to listen to a conservative talk show, they’ll probably listen to Rush and not some local upstart. This is a crap shoot and little more.
So get him via an app on your smartphone or tablet.
Revolt will come.
Look for another radio station to take Rush in and the ratings will go through the roof.
These people are probably owned by a much larger boss and are doing what they’re ordered to do ... part of the democrat party process don’tchaknow.
Stay in touch. I’ll be on the lookout for it, too.
I pick up rush on Wheeling WV radio station, then transfer to 610 AM in Columbus until I get in range of WIBC, with WOWO 1190 AM out of Ft. Wayne doing some gap fill in and then pick up WLS 890 from Chicago
Thanks. I love 610 from Columbus. Do you ever listen to John Corby when Rush is finished? Corby is my favorite after Rush!
Bye the time Rush is over, I’m usually in Indy and heading north to Chicago or in opposite direction, nearly to Wheeling WV
Hmmm, well if you ever get the chance, I bet you’ll enjoy Corby. I have often wondered if he is a FReeper based on the content of his shows. He’s usually mentioning something that I’ve read here first.
“I knew talk shows had a lot of ads, but I didnt know how much until today. In talking about the leukemia fund-raiser on Friday, Rush said his 3 hour show has only 1 3/4 hours of talk the rest is ads.”
