The Maryland parents who let their “free-range” kids walk home alone and were found responsible of unsubstantiated child neglect are under fire again for leaving the children unsupervised in a park.

Child Protective Services is investigating Danielle and Alexander Meitiv after their children were found alone in a Silver Springs park Sunday, NBC Washington reported.

today it is not safe for a 6 yr old and a 10 year old to be unsupervised in a park, on their own, a mile or more from home- especially in this large suburban area and especially with years of the govt dumping sex offenders and molesters out of prison and back onto the streets!

If I saw those kids I'd be watching them and afraid to leave them alone even if I didn't know them

There is something “unnatural” about the “parenting” style professed by these geek parents. Maybe the authorities are being overprotective ( I don't think so, people who see these little kids roaming a mile or more from home know in their gut this isn't safe) but it is safer for the kids if they err on the side of caution

And this is a law? Or is this one just made up because they say so?

Children are assets of the state.

I don’t believe that they are referring to them as “free range kids”. Yikes!

We hiked in the forests carrying rifles.

In Junior High my best friend and I brought our .22's to school and stored them in our school wall lockers.
Then after school we would go shooting rats at the town dump for target practice.

To get to the dump we walked down part of Main Street, past the police station, carrying the rifles on our shoulders and no one gave us a second look.

We used to put aerosol cans in fires and shoot them with rifles to watch them explode.

One time during the Cold War we saw a Movie-Tone news reel of people throwing Molotov Cocktails on Russian tanks.

The next day the kids were all out in the fields throwing Molotov Cocktails at the shale banks and rock pits.

Back then you could just go to the gas station with a glass jug and buy 5 or 10 cents worth of gas and no one even batted an eye.

I guess they figured it was for the lawn mower!

"Where have you been all day?"
"Out."
"What were you doing?"
"Nothing."

Nearly all of our parents would be in prison if we were kids today-this whole concept of “protecting” is flawed-those kids were not even a mile from home...

We wandered everywhere in Summer and after school-we even had an old canoe to go up and down the creek in...

I grew up in the country, but there was a park within walking/biking distance, on the far outskirts of town. If we saw anyone we thought was weird, we knew enough to run for home-and we didn’t go to that park on weekends when the local teens hid out under the trees and bushes there to drink, smoke and whatever...

I don’t believe that they are referring to them as “free range kids”.

"Attention All Units!"

"We have a reported break-out on MLK Jr. Avenue on the north side of Obama Park."

"Be on the lookout for two Free Range Kids, light complexion, approximately 46" in height walking on the sidewalk without supervision!"

This is not a drill! Repeat - This is not a drill!"

Meanwhile back at the White House members of the terrorist group known as the Muslim Brotherhood parade supporters in and out seeing what advantage the sympathetic administration can give them in their quest to over-throw the American way of life.

I can remember buying small amounts of sulfur and salt peter from the local drug store as a kid, grinding charcoal on a rock, and mixing to make black powder.

I was about 10, it was a one mile walk to town. This was around 1965.

It never went boom, but it sure did burn! It was not until years later that I learned it needed to be in a pipe or something.

Good thing my parents have passed on, holder may have had them arrested today!

To: detective; All

I was born in Milwaukeestan, WI and was raised free-range in The Cement Jungle. Roamed freely, alone, age 7 and up. Grandma or Ma would think NOTHING of sending us a number of MILES to the store with a few dollars for eggs or milk; we never got jacked!

We HAD to be home by suppertime, and then we’d go out prowling until the streetlights came on...which EVERY kid knew was the time to go home or get a spanking. Crossed a 4 lane FREEWAY to get to school each day, DURING RUSH HOUR with no crossing guard or traffic signals.

When I was 10, we moved to the suburbs outside of Madistan - and at first we didn’t know what to do with ourselves. All. That. Green, LOL!

Later in life, my boys roamed all over our 300 acres; in the summer, I wouldn’t see them for days on end! They were camping in the woods and would only come home every few days for supplies and water. More ammo. Maybe a bandaid, LOL!

I really feel sorry for kids and parents these days. It’s insane.

“Yet when illegal alien kids cross the border the left calls them ‘Brave’ and gives them amnesty...”

Excellent burn!

If these parents aren’t Conservatives now, they soon WILL be. Hard to believe that even the most hard-core Leftists would cotton to having Government run/ruin their lives.

Oh, wait...WHAT am I saying? LOL!

"We hiked in the forests carrying rifles"

So did I. In the '50s lmost every boy in my neighborhood had a rife by the time he was 12 years old, and a bow and arrow long before that. We'd spend all day in the woods hunting crows, and squirrels, or just shooting whatever, and then come back at dark. I can remember they had barrels of surplus WWII rifles at the hardware store or in Pep Boys, and anyone could buy one just like you might buy a bag of nails. I grew up within 25 miles of Washington D.C.

We ran all over the woods behind our neighborhood with BB guns and were fishing and swimming in a strip mining lake that was probably 150 ft deep in the middle. It scares me now to think back about it. LOL! We rode our bikes a half mile up a 4 lane highway to the Neisner’s five and dime to buy candy. Nobody died, nobody got snatched. No problems. But it was a different time.

54 years ago my 6 year old brother and I were at the ballpark playing baseball as we were most days with our friends and cousins. Some creep grabbed my brother and I beat him down literally with my baseball bat until some older folks came over and held him until the beat cop got there. I was 10.
