Maybe if she claimed to be a Muslim convert they'd let her in..
To: smokingfrog
If she said she was a Muslim there would be no problems at all staying and getting a tax-funded apartment and all sorts of benefits.

Just the mere fact that she’s willing to move from Canada to the UK could indicate that she is emotionally unstable.

It is a pretty good example of why you don’t want government bureaucrats making important decisions on your behalf.

The difference between a bureaucrat and a sack of fertilizer is that the bag of fertilizer can be used to make vegetables grow and flowers bloom. A bureaucrat is just a bunch of s**t.

Similar thing happened to me after marrying my British hubby. Threatened to be deported from the UK after following all the protocol and put in a holding area with a guard to be sent back to the US.
Crazy.
Long story.

Schengen visa situation. Read up on it. Roughly twenty-five European countries signed it and it basically limits how long someone can stay without a full-up visa (fair amount of paperwork). The days when someone would arrive and stay eight months walking around European cities are long gone as a college student.

45 years? Isn't that enough to prove it isn't a sham marriage?
Is there a precedent of questioning a marriage that lasted longer than 10 years?

After reading everything, I still fail to see the logic of the entire story.
Weird.
