I am writing this on-behalf of my husband and long time Freeper My Favorite Headache, he suffered a skull fracture, severe concussion, and a host of other body injuries on the night of March 6th after slipping on a patch of ice after a snowstorm hit earlier in the morning. He was walking to his car leaving a friends house from the garage to the driveway, literally 8 steps and he just went down.
The injury was sustained to the back of his head and to his back and neck and had lost all feeling in his right leg which thankfully has been getting feeling back in it over the last week.
His neurologist just did a new MRI and we get the results on the 16th. He wanted to go deeper into his brain because he sustained a bad injury when he was a kid to his frontal left lobe when he fell from a 2 story house so they are trying to see if things are worse there. He also suffered 3 other concussions through football and being hit by a drunk driver in the 90s.
I am posting here because I know he always checks this page daily and has had friends from here for years, I just don't know them personally to contact them.
Please keep him in your prayers as he tries to fight blinding headaches, memory issues, and speech issues along with the physical pain as he only leaves the house for doctors appointments and has pretty much been left to bed since leaving the hospital.
Our family is really taking it on the chin but we keep faith in Christ that things will turn out for the best. He's had a rough year losing a lot of relatives and friends through illness and insurance has already denied on special medications that cost a fortune out of pocket. Amazing that his own doctors prescribe these drugs for dementia and alzheimers patients to help with brain injuries and as they write it out they tell you that insurance likely isn't going to cover it and those days are over.
So why write the script????
Lord, be with us.
God Bless.
FWIW, I fell from heights and landed on my head and badly injured it a couple of times (most notably when just 2 yrs old, on concrete), and so I have tremendous sympathy for your husband's situation, and for the dire straits your family is faced with.
God never hands us more than we can handle, but sometimes it sure seems overwhelming. So my prayers are that He grants you and your husband strength and peace of mind, and whatever other aspects of His Grace might be needed to make it through this passage.
God Bless.

I have offered prayers on your family’s behalf.
Thanks for posting. Get well soon MFH! Prayers for you both.
Mrs. H, thanks so much for letting us know the terrible trial you all are going through. Share that his friends here are pulling for him in prayer and hope that he can deal with this in small steps all the way to a recovery that is solid and durable.
Send him our best.
Prayers up!
Prayers for positive news on the 16th, and for your continued comfort in the Lord.

Prayers up for you, your husband, the family and his doctors. Since he is recovering feeling in his leg, it sounds like he is already healing. Sleep is the best medicine for brain trauma (and it might take months). We need to especially pray for the doctors, that they do not do unnecessary invasive procedures.
Approximately one year ago, I too fell on a tiny patch of ice. While my injuries were to my face and arms, they were NOTHING compared to your husband’s. At the time, my wife was suffering a stroke and I was taking her to the emergency hospital some 60 miles away. I fell literally on the door step of the emergency entrance. (No I did not sue the hospital). Fortunately my wife was cared for in time to receive medication which counteracted the stroke and is doing well having completely recovered. Our prayers go out to you and your family and of course your husband. May God Bless you all.
I join in earnest, urgent prayer for you and for your family as you deal with these injuries!
Wow, we had a similar thing happen in our family. We will keep you both in mind during our prayers.
There’s not much in the way of drugs they can prescribe, but there are foods and supplements you should look into.

I and the person with the head injury have taken these items and found them all to be functionally helpful. There are other similar foods and supplements to consider, but these were ones that immediately came to me. I can say that the person with that injury in my life is now back to normal with excellent memory and mental agility.
Please research them for your own use.
I hope Mr. H continues to improve.
Praying for the poor guy.
Get well quick guy, we have some FReeping to do.

Saint Augustines Prayer for the Sick
Watch, O Lord, with those who wake, or watch, or weep tonight, and give your angels charge over those who sleep. Tend your sick ones, O Lord Christ. Rest your weary ones. Bless your dying ones. Soothe your suffering ones. Pity your afflicted ones. Shield your joyous ones. And for all your loves sake. Amen.
