Consumers in Australia flocked to Apple Inc's (AAPL.O) store in Sydney on Friday to get the world's first up-close look at the tech giant's smartwatch, which the company expects will be its next runaway hit.
The Apple Watch, CEO Tim Cook's first new major product, was available for pre-order online and to try out in stores - but not take home.
On April 24, consumers will be able to buy it online or by reservation at retail locations including high-end fashion boutiques in Paris, London and Tokyo, part of Apple's strategy of positioning the wearable computer as a must-have accessory.

Perhaps I should say that APPLE WATCH is NOT a watch but a WRIST COMPUTER with hundreds of apps for it (soon to be thousands) and ONE do those apps happens to be a watch-face!
And a check of the app store shows less than 50 apps actually available
I’ve found Swordmaker’s replies to be most helpful and educational.
Now we know why.
Happy for you.
Thanks for the link.
That was me ... and not Swordmaker, by the way ... :-) ...
You are welcome. :-)
Here’s something for you in regards to the number of Apple Watch apps ... :-) ...
Over 1,000 Apple Watch apps are already waiting for you

I see referenced facts and logic are not your strong suit ... eh? ... :-)
Apple Watch Apps: What to Expect

What makes a smartwatch smart?
Theres all that tiny technology inside that lets you receive notifications on your new Apple Watch. You can even talk into your wrist like Dick Tracy. But its the software the apps that play a huge part in making these wearables intelligent.
Knowing this, Apple made its WatchKit software development kit available to other companies in November, so they could start designing apps in time for Apple Watchs April 24th launch. On that day, well see the first crop of apps, and though Apple wouldnt give a specific figure, the company has said it will be in the thousands.
I’m sure there’s a nitch market along with the “look at me I am better than you but cannot afford a Prius” market. Otoh, I have more Apple products in my home than other types, and I simply cannot think of a reason to go to a tiny, microscopic font interface.
That being said, I am sure it is ideally suited for many uses where that need exists. This is the true Beta test so we’ll see within the next year I suppose. By then they will have the “new Iwatch”. : )
Not a knock on Apple by any means, but for me, I need to see how others are using it before I am compelled to feel that this could be useful for me.
Apple didn’t use the “i” on this one ... they just called it “APPLE WATCH” ... :-) ..
You were pinged to Troll me.
It’s questionable if you are even bright enough to know that fact.
I would say the TROLLING started with your Post #2 ... LOL ...
I hope you can guess how much the opinion of someone with a link to commercial products on his/her about me page means to me, Troll.
Are you on your tryouts for being the APPLE-HATER TROLL of the month? ... LOL ...
What makes me a Hater?
I am neither a Fanboy or a Hater.
I have two Apple products that I am generally happy with, Troll.
You could have fooled me with your TROLLING on this thread ... :-) ...
If i don’t buy one does that mean i am anti-gay?
So, what part of the left arm will succumb to iWatch fatigue?
Tap on your watch for 10 minutes straight, what do you feel?
Flamemaker, what number Alinsky’s Rules For Radicals is your ignorant Ping Troll using to troll someone while blaming them for it?
