'He should die in prison': Senator Elizabeth Warren speaks out against the death penalty

Tsarnaev, 21, was found guilty Wednesday on all 30 charges related to the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing

His case will now proceed to the penalty stage, in which the jury will decide whether to sentence him to life in prison or execution

Reflecting her state's liberal politics, Warren is against capital punishment

Warren also spoke about current party issues - but refused to compare her politics to those of likely presidential candidate Hillary Clinton

Warren has repeatedly said she will not be running for president in 2016

Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren says she's relieved Dzhokhar Tsarnaev has been found guilty of carrying out the Boston bombing - the greatest tragedy in her state's recent history - but doesn't believe he should be executed.

In an interview with CBS This Morning on Thursday, Warren reacted to Wednesday's jury verdict which found the 21-year-old guilty on all 30 charges related to the Boston Marathon explosions which killed three and injured hundreds at the finish line.

'Nothing is ever going to make those who were injured whole and it's been a terrible thing but this is a step toward justice,' Warren said.

When asked what she would like to see happen in the penalty stage of the trial, liberal-minded Warren stuck by her anti-death penalty stance.

'My heart goes out to the families here but I don't support the death penalty. I think that he should spend his life in jail - no possibility of parole - he should die in prison. But that's just how I see it. It's up to the jury,' she said.

Massachusetts death penalty - sorta useless isn’t it??

Similar to the 'death penalty' in soviet Red Hampshire...cop killer with state accommodations for life.

About ten minutes in the county jail holding pen should do it.

Innocent babies? Kill them.

Guilty murderers? Lifetime of taxpayer funded everything.

Liberalism is a mental disorder.

"... liberal-minded Warren stuck by her anti-death penalty stance.

However, Ms. Warren believes women should have the right to abort their babies. She apparently believes the tax-payer should care for D. Tsarnaev's health, welfare, education, room and board so he can radicalize others as he has been. She doesn't see the need to fry the little creep? But willing to let women kill their unborn for whatever reason? Ms. Warren is more than addled.

Death by Bubba in prison. That might be better than a quick painless execution.

Warren can feed, cloth, and pay for his healthcare for the next 60 years - then I’m OK with it.

Death by Bubba

And if the resident murderers and rapists weren't doing a good enough job, "somebody" could probably provide a little "incentive".

The key difference is:

Fauxahontas is against the death penalty.

She Who Must Not Be Named is also against the death penalty - except for those who oppose her...

That’s exactly how I would want to do it! And if that’s not available a .45 caliber forehead tattoo would be appropriate.

> ‘He should die in prison’

Statements like that imply a violation of his 4th amendment rights. It is cruel and unusual punishment to torture him with the hope of freedom.

Keep him alive, we may need him to trade for an Ambassador if the blind sheik dies in prison.

Drop him off in South Boston. He’d be alive for ten minutes.

Sadly, it costs us even more to give a guy the death penalty. They are in there for so long still, but add in all of the lawyer costs for appeal after appeal.
