” He had at least some justification for what he did”

Nonewhatsoever. There’s no justification for shooting an unarmed man in the back 5 times at 50 feet while the man is fleeing a traffic stop for a broken tail light. If that’s justified, then you’ve just handed every cop in the nation a license to murder pretty much whomever they want, whenever they want, and for whatever reason they want.

That absurdity keeps getting repeated endlessly, and it’s such an obvious straw man.
If I get stopped by a cop for any reason, I would never end up dead, for I would not choose to get out of my car, struggle with him take away his taser, then run for it. THOSE ARE ALL MY CHOICES.
If he shoots me in my seat nine times, with hands on the steering wheel, that is the only possible rational hysterical scenario where murder is indisputable.
THAT WOULD BE THE KILLER COP’S CHOICE.
All those choices are my normal role is the social contract. If I am not a thug, of course.
