The family of South Carolina police shooting victim Walter Scott is preparing to fire back at the killer cop with a civil suit.
We will seek every penny of compensation that the family deserves, state Rep. Justin Bamberg, who is representing the Scott family as a lawyer, told the Daily News on Thursday. People in society are fed up with people getting away with things like this, fed up with law enforcement abusing the power that they have.

No that is based on the video.
Are waiting for the official police report after the 1st fabricated police report was shown to be a lie by that video?
Not saying civil lawsuits shouldn’t be filed, but it would have been a little more appropriate if the family had been so overcome by grief that it would have waited until the criminal trial is over before shoving up to the trough. Just a little too gib me dat IMO.
Are any of those charges worthy of on-the-spot execution?
If I saw video of my loved one being murdered like that, I would go for everything the guy has, and as soon as possible, I would want to reduce his ability to fight and to increase the difficulty of his time before a court decision.
They don’t have to explain why they are suing for wrongful death, rich white people would be suing as well.
The lawyers handle the suit, not the grieving family, so to them it doesn’t interfere with what they are dealing with.
My guess is the the cop’s defense team is not going to roll out a “the video was altered and out client really did not put five slugs in the dead guy’s back and that was not a weapon that he planted on the dead guy” defense.
What about the report that he had drugs in the car, plus weapons and ammunition, and he had made a video about looking for a cop to shoot? All reported by a local TV station.
What really happened no one will ever know. Like the Rodney King fiasco, the initial five minutes of the event, to which the cops were responding, the “silent testimony” somehow never gets on video. Or if it does, is buried permanently.
.
This is totally different, we know what happened here, the murder.
Look at post 27.
Here is a valid opinion. Watching the video, retired Los Angeles County sheriffs Cmdr. Charles Sid Heal said there wasnt much there to help the defense.
The man basically is running and never even turns to look. He isnt zig-zagging. He is just running and hes shot several times in the back, said Heal, who has testified in dozens of officer force cases. Only with wildest of imagination can I contrive a set of facts that would explain it.
“Are any of those charges worthy of on-the-spot execution?”
No.
The old meme was “the child had his hands up and unarmed, and shot in the back.” Not that he was a 215-pound thug.
This time, the meme is that “he was ‘running away’ and no immediate danger to anyone.”
NO one at the time knew why he was running away. The thug just as easily could have just blown away 20 victims, yet was still not an immediate threat to anyone. So letting him go has became an African thing, except, of course, in Africa.
That is probably just a photo of the sergeant taking his gun from him.
Who dropped the taser the cop picked up?
Who did it belong to originally?
Doesn’t all that matter?
The dead 25-yr old thug was not an innocent baby. If I had a son with his record, I might shoot him myself. I don’t subscribe to the “my baby right or wrong” crap.
Is this the incident in which the officer shot the fleeing individual 8 times? Cause if so it's gonna be real hard to prove it wasn't murder.
He does seem interested in the camera though. This case is going to be scrutinized. The written reports by all involved will probably led to numerous charges.
That scenario, as worded, is so sad, the only facts you omitted was that he was rushing on his way to church to serve mass, after serving breakfast to homeless handicapped lesbian minority alien children earlier in the day...
“The dead 25-yr old thug was not an innocent baby. If I had a son with his record, I might shoot him myself. I dont subscribe to the my baby right or wrong crap.”
No one involved in the incident was 25 years old and no one had that extreme of a criminal record.
We do know that an unamed man was shot in the back, we know that the shooter picked up his TAZER and placed it next to the body and we know the cop’s account does not match up with the facts on the video tape.
That scenario, as worded, is also accurate. Unlike your post.
