It causes a person to wonder if liberals-socialists ever consider that down the road their actions will have unexpected consequences.

I think that is the essence of Liberalism -- "I take this position because it makes me feel good about myself today. I really don't care if there are unintended consequences, why bother to think about tomorrow?"

unintended consequences

You have to hope it doesn't go that far.

Bingo! You hit it right on the head. I have been unemployed now for 2 years. My liberal neighbor called me over and gave me money to pay some bills. Exactly, what you stated. She told me she would feel bad if I reject her money. She said “IT WOULD MAKE HER FEEL GOOD”. I’m thinking “Lady if you want to feel good smoke some weed”. She didn’t say “because I care” nope “I want to feel good”. Sigh

O by the way I got a job interview tomorrow - I pray I get hired but don’t want to get my hopes high.
