Sarah Brady dies at 73

Sarah Kemp Brady, the widow of former White House Press Secretary James Brady, died Friday after battling pneumonia, her family said in a statement. She was 73.

Sarah Brady became a prominent gun control advocate after her husband was shot during the attempt on then-President Ronald Reagan's life in 1981.

James Brady died in August at age 73.

I wonder if she had a moment of clarity on her deathbed and asked forgiveness for trying to take away peoples natural rights? Doubtful.

Naw. But I am sure God's schooled her by now. :)

I actually think -- at least initially -- she had good motivations. HORRIBLE execution, but good motivations. There's a chance, if she accepted the Savior, that she is in Heaven, partly because her (very misguided) drive to do good for humanity. She was 100% wrong, but I give credit for intention.

I don’t believe in the conservative tradition of ignoring people’s evil actions simply because they’ve gone to meet their maker. Its one of countless little decencies that our enemies turn and use as a club to pummel us with.

In this regard, who cares what our enemies do with our kindness? God cares that we are kind, and that is all that matters.

God also admonishes us to be wise. I’m not suggesting being cruel to her survivors. I’m also not suggesting that we wish her ill in what happens after death. I’m suggesting that we NOT gloss over the great amount of evil that she did in a sort of false forgiveness or politically correct unwillingness to acknowledge evil.
