Anti-discrimination activists and gay rights groups welcomed a lightning evolution by Jeb Bush, this week on a controversial law passed in Indiana last week that opponents said would have made it easier for businesses to discriminate against LGBT employees and customers.
On Monday, Bush praised the law as signed by Indianas governor, Mike Pence. On Wednesday, the former Florida governor and likely 2016 presidential candidate drew back sharply in his approbation, conceding only that the law would be in the right place by the end of the week, after an anticipated fix by the Indiana legislature.
Bushs original remarks were made on the Hugh Hewitt radio show, whose core audience comprises the kind of hard-right conservatives who tend to vote in primary elections. Bushs second remarks were made in Palo Alto, California, at a Silicon Valley fundraiser.
As a probable candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, Bush could face a hazard that dogged the partys last nominee, Mitt Romney, who was accused of saying one thing to appease conservative primary voters and then changing his message for the general election. The recent pair of Bush statements, however, suggests that in his case, the process may be significantly accelerated.
Marc Solomon, national campaign director of Freedom to Marry, said Bushs first remarks were terrible and out of synch with the majority of American voters who stand strongly in support of protecting gay and lesbian people from discrimination.
The Bush remarks two days later, however, werent bad, Solomon said.

Bush...and Pence, and Hutchinson, and Snyder. And Walker won’t answer the question.
The only person who seems truly interested in conservative interpretations of religious freedom is, naturally, Ted Cruz.
Where does Joe Biden stand on this? Elizabeth Warren? Why do only Republicans have to answer questions about it?
Jeb is retarded and has no core.
JEb is unelectable. Cruz is. If the GOP wants to survive it must elect a constitutional conservative like Cruz.
FUJB!!
It’s getting easier and easier to pick a candidate this election, basically it’s Cruz or no-one.
Juan McCain version 3.0
Just what the GOP needs, another NWO spineless jellyfish for its appointed leader, rinse and repeat.
Jeb Bush is perfectly positioned to win the nomination.
He is running as a Democrat, right?
Spineless wuss.
anti-discrimination group should be supporting christians because they’re the target of discrimination
Why are our idiots so afraid of a tiny group of perverts?
PERVERTS put our supposed BEST weak in the knees.
SODOMITES. DYKES.
They throw their sin openly in our faces, in the streets. Teaching perversion in our schools with the blessing of our government.
To hell with all of them.
Oh and I forgot to mention with the blessings of many false churches and wolves in sheeps’ clothing.
Jebbie is a useless follower.
A sheep in the herd.
What a fool.
It’s over, Jebbie. CRUZ OR LOSE!!!!!
“Where does Joe Biden stand on this? Elizabeth Warren?”
Don’t know about Warren, but you can bet that Biden is standing “on his member” somewhere. Calling him stupid and senile is an affront to both the stupid and senile amongst us.

Freedom only applies one way, eh!
Too bad voters voted for the traditional definition of marrige. That really shows voters support homosexual marriage, right.
Republican = cave man
