His wife was also a convert.
You see where that leaves us.

<> Research your scriptures and then you’ll have to decide that for yourself because anything I tell you doesn’t matter to you and you’ll have a rebut for it.

So; do I read you 'correctly' here when you state that anyone can figger it out fer themselves by reading scripture? What constitutes SCRIPTURE?

Sounds like the Glenn Beck story:

Find a ‘religion’ we can share.

As a Mormon...
I know what you're referring to and we all just shake our heads... it's sad. Usually it's accompanied by a "I just can't believe he would do that..." statement.

But we're all at different places in our progression. Some have more to repent of than others.

Show patience, kindness, and charity toward all people and forgive them so that Christ will forgive us. That's the bottom line.

See tagline... as a former Mormon myself, generally it is considered permissible to lie to ‘gentiles’ (any non Mormon even Jews), but it is frowned on to lie to other ‘active, temple going’ Mormons. However rarely is anything ever done about it unless it involves a member in high standing (like Romney) vs. a lower member.

Wow, that's some serious BS right there....And you call yourself "Christian"...just wow. Good luck with that at the judgement.

Harry Reid's been an officially church sanctioned "Visiting Home Teacher" in the DC area. The Mormon church has put Harry Reid "to work."

So?

Every man in the Church is assigned to be a home teacher... it's part of serving others.

Romney is more Mormon royalty than Reid (convert) so while Reid won’t be punished he will be gossiped about and thought less of. Of course converts are lower beings anyway.

30 years as a Latter-day Saint and have never once heard anyone referred to as "Royalty".

You've seriously sunk to a new low.

And what's this "high standing members" thing? Never seen that...

I'm a convert too...treated the same as everyone else.

What's the difference between what you're posting that are patently false and what Reid did?

Harry Reid probably knew what Willard’s financial records contained because as Mormons they are required to give copies of their income and tax returns to the Mormon religion so that they can prove they are tithing enough and to continue to get a Mormon temple recommend..

Wow really? Tax returns huh? Required to give....

I'm sure you have proof of that right??

30 years as a Mormon and I have never seen nor heard of this anywhere...

This ranks right up there with the Baptist preacher in my home town that told all of his church members that Mormons had real horns and sacrificed babies.

Now shake your Bible at me and tell me how you're a good "Christian" Nana.

Smart people know how to ask good questions. THIS is a legitimate question and I would hope the powers that exist in Salt Lake City are trolling this thread and put some action to this question that bothers a lot of us.

It's between Reid and the Lord. We believe strongly with the principle of teaching correct principles and letting people governing themselves.

People will sin and sometimes it infuriates us. But if everyone in every church were kicked out the moment they did something wrong...how many churches would be left?

23 of us walked away - Us, kids, grandchildren - nobody cared.

There's two sides to every story.

Did you go to the Lord in fasting and prayer? We're you patient and humble?

How will you explain your decision to the Lord at the judgement?

One thing that I have always seen with people that leave the Church over some offense...generally they were looking to be offended. And it never includes fastening and prayer. Lots of pride, very little humility.

What you're not saying...is how many times your ward tried to reach out to see what was wrong, how you were doing, etc...

The Bishop that offended you, if he did anything truly wrong, repented, learned from it, grew from the experience and is a better person.

I’m sorry they did that to you but glad you and your lovely family escaped...

but that was then..they care now...

The Morg has been bleeding for the last few years...closing missions and adding lots of girls and lowering the starting age and the qualifications and standadrs..

Hornet22, see the kind of people that applaud your actions?

The Church added an additional 58 new missions. They actually raised the standards and lowered the age and the amount of people volunteering for missionary service exploded.

Hornet22, might I suggest reaching out and invite someone from your ward over to chat? Don't let the vipers win.

Get real, my statement is absolutely factually correct, you say there is no such thing as a temple Mormon, and then describe how one becomes one, just like I said.

"temple Mormon" is an anti-Mormon construct. vette6387 is correct, we don't use that terminology so it doesn't actually exist.

Harry Reid is a Temple Mormon.

Ha! And you even formalize it; "Temple Mormon". If you make up anymore words that apply to us, please let us know. Instead of calling us liars for not knowing your pet names for us.

True. And the “bishop” won’t care diddly sqat. Reid will continue to be honored, and never lose his TR.

Why would he lose his Temple Recommend?

By all means explain how you have to be completely sinless and perfect...

Lol, temple Mormon is just a normal shortening of formal wording, and Harry Reid is a temple Mormon.

This is typical for Mormons, you know that temple Mormon is everyday language, but you want to distract from the facts posted to pretend to huff and puff about something meaningless.

You guys are so brainwashed, that you don’t realize how silly your pretend outrages are, and how transparent your BSing is.

They are, afterall, “called by god” for such a position...this could almost be construed by them as heresy...cause for excommunication.

wrong.

Are you a Mormon? If so, then I assume that you are not up to Reid’s standards within your religion, that you don’t have a TR?

Temple Recommends are personal. It's not publicized who has one and who doesn't.

he is officially examined periodically to answer that very question, and his examiners issue him official paper work proving his being an exceptionally devout Mormon.

"officially"...really?

It's a voluntary meeting with the Bishop and Stake President that the member requests where they answer a few questions like do you have a testimony of God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ.

But to you he's "OFFICIALLY EXAMINED" !!!!!!!!!

LOL!

You keep posting nothings.

No one mentioned publicizing anything, it was merely a personal inquiry (which that poster refuses to answer), and the examination for a temple recommend is official, it is a formal and official process.

Your posts are just goofy.

Everyday language for anti-Mormons. Now go ahead and try make an argument that I use words that I actually don't.

You guys are so brainwashed, that you don’t realize how silly your pretend outrages are, and how transparent your BSing is.

You mean like Colofornian, Elsie, You, T Nana etc...??

Aren't you the one that tells everyone not to read any more scripture because God won't say anything more. Only read what you say it ok? Only believe what you is ok to believe? Keeping everyone nice and contained... /shiver
