As Iran negotiations continue, Rep. Martha Roby among group meeting with Israeli PM Netanyahu

Rep. Martha Roby, R-Montgomery, was among the nine-member Congressional delegation meeting with Netanyahu to discuss Iran's nuclear agenda and terrorist threats. The meeting comes just weeks after Netanyahu addressed Congress to warn them about Iran's threats against the Jewish nation.

Roby, who serves on the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Military Construction and Veterans Affairs, said the visit was designed to enforce the relationship with Israel, a country she described as a "close friend and ally" and a "critical foothold for democracy in a dangerous region that is, frankly, becoming less and less stable."

"We had a long, productive discussion with Prime Minister Netanyahu about our shared concerns relating to Iran's nuclear capabilities," Roby said. "Under no circumstances can we allow Iran to build a nuclear weapon. It would threaten our allies, and it would cause a very serious ripple effect throughout the Middle East."

"Every indication we have tells us that the deal being discussed is weak," Roby said. "It would be a mistake to enter into a deal that creates an eventual path toward a bomb. We need to negotiate from a position of strength, not out of desperation to reach a deal with Iranian leaders who have stated intent to harm both America and Israel. Our delegation assured the prime minister that we stand with Israel and that we will continue to work with its leaders to promote peace in the region."

In addition to meeting with Netanyahu, the Congressional delegation, led by House Speaker John Boehner, traveled to the Gaza Strip and the Black Arrow Paratrooper Memorial where they were updated on the situation inside Gaza. Roby and the delegation traveled earlier this week to Iraq, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait where they met with elected officials, U.S. ambassadors and military personnel.

This never bothered any other Presidents that I’ve been through but this sure has to be more sand in Obama’s underwear.

I wonder what would happen if he just flat out arrested that bunch? There’s so many possibilities. There’s a metaphor about ‘being at end of the rope’. Can’t use that because it’s a double entendre with one side being racist and the other side meaning your mountain climbing days are over. I can say I think he’s being pushed to his psychological tipping point.

Is Montgomery one of obama's 57 states?
