Isn’t there a saying that Love is Blind. Looks like John was totally blind to exchange Cynthia for Yoko Ono who thinks she is talented.
To: Menehune56
“John traded her in for Yoko Ono? What was he thinking!”
***
He wasn’t. Men (and women too) often don’t know when they have a good spouse. Always looking for someone younger, better looking or whatever.
The liberal socialist crowd worship John Lemon as a saint. I always thought he was a self centered jerk. But then again, unlike most of my contemporaries, I thought the Beatles were overrated.

sad news, I believe Julian was very close to his mother, not sure how big his family is?
To: Menehune56
My thinking is that John’s mother died when he was 14 and that Yoko was more of a mother figure being as she was older than John and looked more matronly than anything else. But that’s just me playing amateur psychologist.

“Yoko Ono who thinks she is talented.”
She IS talented. At business management and wealth accumulation.
To: Borges
He tossed her and The Beatles over for Yoko.
In the end he was just another druggie.

Always looking for someone younger, better looking or whatever. He lost out on both counts with that trade.

"He was a very jealous young man at the time, and he had a lot of pain inside," Any guy like that married to *my* sister is a worthless punk.

I seem to recall he was distant/cold to Julian too. yes--he said something like Julian was the product of a whiskey bottle on a Saturday night... that is so mean... and i believe he did not include Julian in his will... what a jerk...

I happened across one review of Ono's act at the time. I was maybe 11 or 12.
All I can remember is the line "She couldn't draw flies".

I never bought any Beatles music either, but I did in time warm to three or four of their songs. I guess they needed lessons in compassion and consideration of others.

Cynthia loved John and met him in art class. She got pregnant by him, I think in her book she said to hold onto him. He married her out of honor. She was a good mother and kept her head among all the craziness of the fame of Beatlemania. She did not like drugs. John once told her he didn't trust anyone who did not do drugs. He should've trusted Cynthia. She always was a good woman. Rest in Peace, Cyn.
