[[RE:”I can only assume ..”
There ya go]]

Clear it up- set the record straight- (Your responses have made it pretty clear where you stand- so assuming is done with a fairly high degree of certainty- unless you are intentionally trying to deceive? Which I’m not sure why you would do so unless to think you’ll somehow win an unwinnable point. Your friend claimed you defend the Christian viewpoint consistently, however, not admitting to a key Christian doctrine such as God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit, and Christ and God being one is infact arguing against such a key Christian doctrine- Perhaps you do defend in other threads, but so far you haven’t In this thread because You are essentially denying that the old testament is valid when it declares Christ and God are one [there are even new testament verses that declare that]-) John 14:7-10 [7] If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.” And Thomas answered and said unto him [Jesus], My Lord and my God. John 20:28 Who [Jesus], being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: Philippians 2:6 For in him [Jesus] dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. Colossians 2:9 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. 1 Timothy 3:16 (Yes, Jesus did ‘pray to the father’- however, Again, HYpostatic Union- check it out- educate yourself on the matter)

you indicated you do not believe Christ is God and only the ‘Son of God’- unless you are being intentionally deceitful- the only reasonable assumption has to be you do not believe God’s word to be the infallible divinely inspired word of God, Your argument falls flat if you don’t believe Christ is God, and that the bible is the infallible divinely inspired word of God- Is that why you refuse to answer the questions presented you? You demanded I provide verses to back up my claim, I provided them, I asked you about your position on three key issues pertaining to those verses, you refuse to answer- other than to insinuate Christ is merely the Son of God and Not God Himself - The only way you can keep making the false claim that I provided no answers is to take the line that Christ is only the Son of God, and Not God Himself, and that the bible isn’t true in certain places, or that what ‘was true’ ‘no longer is true’ because ‘we’re now in new church age’ (which is an unbiblical stance- all the word of God is infallibly and divinely inspired and true yesterday today and tomorrow

you can be coy all you like, but your viewpoint and position is revealing itself, unless you are lying about what you believe by only stating part of what you believe and intentionally leaving parts out in an effort to deceive?

Question: Do you believe or Deny that the word is Christ I n the bible verse “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”? If You believe it, How do you explain away the fact that God specifically states that HE is the WORD? Or do you believe this verse was simply written by fallible man and perhaps embellished with flowery speech or something?

There ya go

Y’know, sol, you ought to give it up while your forum buddies still respect you; your opponent’s got you with the hypostatic union, which you seem to be deliberately avoiding; no amount of dancing around gets free of the lynchpin of mainstream Christology, articulating the unity of Christ’s divinity and humanity in one hypostasis, or if you will, essence...

Your viewpoint is more in line with that of Apollinaris of Laodicea, who posited that Jesus had a human body (the inferior seat of emotions) but a divine mind...a position declared heresy by the First Council of Constantinople in 381 AD...
