The owners of a small pizzeria in Indiana were seemingly the first business to say they would publicly deny service to LGBT couples in the wake of Indiana’s new and controversial Religious Freedom Law.

Shortly after Memories Pizza owners agreed in a local newscast that the Religious Freedom Restoration Act allows them to deny service to LGBT people who wanted their pizza at a same-sex wedding, 1-star Yelp reviews rolled in denouncing the business.

This stuff is why we put off using our property as a wedding and wedding reception site. It would be a gold mine, but I refuse to support homosexual unions in any way, shape or form, so the business is put on indefinite hold.

How about looking at the real cases that have come up, before getting all bent out of shape over hypotheticals. The real cases have been pretty blatant. The original bill (dunno about the proposed amendment) definitely provided breathing room for the real cases.

Romans KJV ch 1, v 24-27:

(24)Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves:

(25) Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshiped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

(26) For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

(27) And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet.

The Apostle Paul's letter to the Christians in Rome clearly says that God destroyed the antediluvian world's people with a universal flood because of their sins, one of which was the homosexual acts of all the people except righteous Noah and his family. Paul describes their homosexual sins in polite terms, but it's very clear that he was referring to that generation's depraved homosexual acts. If God destroyed all but 8 of the antediluvian people for their homosexual sins, why would he spare America now that we as a nation also approve that very same sin?

[[I will never understand how homosexuals, and liberals in general, came to have so much power in this country.]]

It’s very simple- people of ‘morals’ looked the other way because they were afraid of the barks coming from the left- Sin was tolerated via INACTION by the right- and now it is flourishing

Just like a parent who refuses to reprimand their child- once the child begins to grow and become more powerful, the battle is lost- the child will always win from there on out-

Spare the rod spoil the child- a simple verse I n the bible- but one that liberals for years have been fighting to do away with, and when the right abandoned the rod, the left took over- and now we’re seeing the result of it- aint pretty is it?

Religious, political, moral, association. Any apply.

Not under the First Amendment. And really that only protects you from government interference, not from interference from private individuals. This law extends that. And while I agree with the premise that a person should be allowed to practice their religion as their faith dictates, I disagree with all these "oh no no no, it's not discrimination" claims that are being made. It is discrimination. But sometimes that's what a person believes their faith requires and the legal system shouldn't be allowed to be a tool to beat them up for it.

Individuals are allowed to choose based on their own sensibilities and moral code, with the government preserving that autonomy regarding how you live your life.

Infortunately for this pizza place, they're learning the First Amendment also protects people's right to trash them online.

...

Big Government wants to use them. Forcing the gay agenda on the American people who don’t want it requires more government. The crooks in government will also get a small group of voters who will tolerate their corruption.

Thats your choice, but from a secular standpoint you can’t run a society with that level of uncertainty in the marketplace.

Why do we have to bend our knee to that rather than believing that God will bless our best efforts to do things the right way

To paraphrase Mr. Churchill, it may be the beginning of the end, the middle of the beginning of the end, or the end of the beginning of the end.

Just playing.

IMHO

...

Not true. They said they wouldn’t serve a gay wedding.

Sin against marital purity is nothing new. The church let itself get weak in that area. It became largely hypocrites. Hypocrites cannot teach virtue. It is the snowballing of a long standing problem.

But of course the headline is how the whining would be phrased.

That is the foundation upon which my point rests. It is critical.

Well I am known to be a Christian and was subjected to all sorts of ridiculous rule making, meetings, and memos before anyone bothered to ask me if I would refuse service to same sex couples. I recognize that there are a lot of teachings that work beautiully on an individual level that would be a disaster if you tried to codify them.

This is what should have happened with “whites only” places in the south rather than government intervention. It actually WAS happening.

I’ve never heard of a “No Gays” sign. This sounds like a colossal strawman.

Publicly donate proceeds from such events to organizations the group would find toxic. Repub party, gay to straight therapy, traditional marriage advocacy groups, etc.

Now that's a brilliant idea! Advertise on your web site that 20% of all proceeds will be donated to an organization which helps gay people get straight.

“Yet in every state where homosexual marriage has been on the ballot, it has been defeated.”

And then an activist judge rules against the will of the people.
