The Mid-American Conference announced it won't hold championships or meetings in Indiana in response to the state's recent signing of the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, ESPN reported Tuesday.
Conference commissioner Jon Steinbrecher said the league would continue to avoid conducting business in the Hoosier state until, "the current matter is brought to a sensible and appropriate conclusion."

I don’t want to read the link. But can you explain what the ‘Mid-American Conference’ is? And why should anyone care?
Minor NCAA Division 1 football/basketball conference.
I would like this to play out to its natural conclusion -
states segregating along ideological lines,
leaving each other to do their own thing,
and not forcing their beliefs on other states.
People then vote with their feet as to which ideology actually works.
If they are so fricken stupid as to believe the stuff being said perhaps they should just not come back at all. I for one won’t miss them although I’m sure some will.
Maybe it’s time for Christians to start boycotting these aholes.
I hope someone is keeping a list of these self righteous idiots.
I believe the spending power of the Christian demographic far outweighs any “LGBTLMNOP” group.
Mid-American Conference hates Christians.
Is anyone intellectually honest about things?
Did this conference boycott all of the other states which have these laws?
Why is it that the left had nothing to say about these religious freedom laws until last week?
Why are they targeting Indiana, and only Indiana, but not the other states which have these laws?
Why did the idiot governor of Connecticut ban state travel to Indiana over this law, when his own “blue” state has this same law????
You read my mind!
If this is the issue that is what it takes for there to be a break-up, then I say great. If, for example, Texas gets a ruling from the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals that forces homo marriage on the state and Texas wants to walk away, I’m packing my family up and moving. It’d be a worthy cause.
There are two Americas right now, and we’re seeing this divide more and more. Both sides speak English, but they’re speaking past each other, almost as though the conservative side lives in reality and the Dems/libs come from some sort of Bizarro world of twisted “facts.”
I’ve noticed through this whole debate over religious liberty that everyone is assuming that a SCOTUS ruling in favor of homo marriage is all but assured. A done deal. Fait accompli. If so, June and July are going to be miiiighty interesting times..
You’re right about the bizarro world of the left.
And it’s not enough that THEY want to live in bizarro land,
they want to use FORCE to make everyone else “live” there as well.
The more I look at it, these anti-RFRA groups seem to act like the “possessed” girls at Salem accusing others of being witches.
Scream, holler, roll on the ground, foam at the mouth!
Then when the act is signed into law they look for another place to play out their game.
LOOK! ARKANSAS!
Rush down there, check into a motel, eat at the local restaurants, then go to the capitol and...
Scream, holler, roll on the ground, foam at the mouth!
Remember how the witch trials ended? The locals simply got tired of the games the girls were playing and ignored them(after hanging a few innocents).
When the girls found they had no audience they quit their silliness.
At the rate we’re going, we may have a formula for secession.
If the MAC is going to boycott RFRA’s, here’s the list of states hey need to put on their list:
States with RFRAs
There are 21 states that have a version of the Religious Freedom Restoration Act enacted by their legislature:
Alabama
Arizona
Arkansas
Connecticut
Florida
Idaho
Illinois
Indiana
Kansas
Kentucky
Louisiana
Mississippi
Missouri
New Mexico
Oklahoma
Pennsylvania
Rhode Island
South Carolina
Tennessee
Texas
Virginia
If states with RFRA-like provisions that have been provided by state court decisionsrather than via legislationare included, the list also contains:
Alaska
Hawaii
Ohio
Maine
Massachusetts
Michigan
Minnesota
Montana
North Carolina
Washington
Wisconsin
And of course, the Federal government has such a law, so they might as well include all of America in their boycott if they are to remain intellectually honest.
That’s about the only way we’ll restore liberty in this country - if the states step up and do something, even if it is not secession but a strict application of the 9th & 10th amendment.
Who was the African-American singer who said he’d never perform in Florida again following the George Zimmerman verdict, then hit the stage two weeks later?
Here are the specific schools that comprise the MAC conference.
Bowling Green State University
Ohio University
University of Akron
University of Buffalo
UMass
Miami University of Ohio
Kent State University
Northern Illinois
Ball State University
University of Toledo
Western Michigan U.
Eastern Michigan U.
Central Michigan U.
