... You guys have said repeatedly that we shouldnt be able to discriminate against anyone, but if you just ignore the existence of this law, cant we already do that now? Cant so-and-so in Richmond put a sign up and say No Gays Allowed?' she asked. Thats not against the law, correct?
It would depend, Bosma replied. If you were in a community that had a human rights ordinance that wouldnt be the case.
But most of the state does not have that, correct? the reporter pressed.
Thats correct, Bosma admitted ...

It was viewed in the same way that Michael Savage viewed all liberalism until 1973.
I'm hoping that someday the pendulum will swing back and anyone who believes in Socialism will be officially classified as disturbed.
You mean like on Mosque entrances?
Good. That means those businesses won’t have to disinfect the seats afterward.
First of all this legislation does not say ONE WORD about gays and lesbians. Or about signs. If such signs were to appear in Indiana, it would have NOTHING to do with this religious protection legislation, but everything to do with the absence of discrimination laws in Indiana.
Indiana lacks a law against discriminatory practices, contrary to other states with this same religious protection legislation.
This Organizing for America website is a nasty source for making conclusions on their dangerous posits.
Who is Bosma?
I should say "RTFA!" :)
However, Brian Bosma (R) is the current Speaker of the Indiana House of Representatives.
Thanks.
He seems like an idiot.
So, what is their reaction to a “No Guns” sign in shop windows?
If I am the owner of a cake shop, I would gladly bake a birthday cake for someone who is gay. Because I want their money.
But, I would not want to acknowledge or participate in a ceremony that mocks an important Sacrament with a government-enforced label of “marriage”.
I would not be discriminating against homosexuals. I am refusing to participate in their mockery.
Would I, as a Christian baker, put up a sign that says “No Gays”? No. But I might put up a sign that says “Christian Weddings Welcome!”
And I think if someone put up a “No Gays Allowed” they are an ass.
Then again, if you come into an establishment for the sole purpose of acting out your proclivities, you to are an ass.
(((Not you, of course)))
How about “Don’t Shoot people” in Indianapolis and Gary?
I just received the following email from an old and dear friend who taught school back when teaching school meant the Three R’s and DID NOT include Marxist political correctness indoctrination. I pass it along as possible food for thought for those of us who grasp the end game of this perniciously pestilential process.
Dick, on this ‘Freedom of Religion’ law:
I think most people get the word ‘religion’ confused in their thinking——we have many people here of other religions.
If their religion required them to close their business at sundown and there were people of other faiths who wanted to do business with them, would they have to open for those who want to do business with them?
Dick, where is the country that I once lived in many, many years ago?
Mary
To which I replied:
Mary, The country in which you and I grew up has been hijacked by a consortium of lownoinfo voters (thank you government schools and the Marxists now running them) and venal, self-serving politicians who believe that if they either remain silent to the ongoing “transformation” (much of the GOP) or aid and abet the process (ALL the Dems who are now indistinguishable from the Stalinists who captured Russia), they will be elevated to princes in the new regime.
Ernst Rohm and the others who assisted Hitler in his conquest of Germany held similar beliefs. He was rewarded with a bullet in the head in a prison cell. His associates died in The Night of the Long Knives”, the lucky ones killed outright, the unlucky ones slowly strangled hanging from hooks like so many butchered cattle.
What these current fools and accomplices of this new tyranny fail to understand is that the history of tyranny is filled with such stories. The tyrant will not tolerate the existence of ANY groups or individuals who might come to threaten his tyranny.
“ALL men lose when freedom fails and good men rot in filthy jails. And those who cried “Appease, appease” are HANGED by those they sought to please.”
Love to you and yours as we enter perhaps the most dangerous 660 days in our lifetime.
Dick
Got to hand it to the gaystopo and the media (but I repeat myself) for confusing issues.
What everyone has lost sight of is that "discrimination" is perfectly legal. The law is that anyone can refuse to sell or supply anything to anyone for any reason. I can legally put up a sign, "No lefties served!" and I can deny service to any left-handed folks or Marxists if I wish. A sign is not even necessary. Might be bad business, but it is legal.
Exceptions are individuals that fall into a protected category that is the basis for refusal to supply: race, sex, national origin, religion, disability. Other than those, discrimination is legal.
Tim Cook and others want to add gayness (call it sexual orientation) to the list of protected categories. Some states and locales already include that, but others, like Indiana, do not. Of course, come June, the Supremes will likely mandate that gayness is a protected class everywhere in the USA.
All this has nothing, however, to do with religious freedom laws.
RE: And I think if someone put up a No Gays Allowed they are an ass.
But will that ass be prosecuted under this Indiana RFRA law?
This article gives the impression that according to these legislators, the ass won’t.
RE: I might put up a sign that says Christian Weddings Welcome!
What about a gay wedding in a “Christian” church like the Presbyterian Church (USA)?
Wouldn't it make sense to put up the sign rather than wait for someone to come into your shop before telling them you can serve them on religious grounds?
1 Corinthians 6:9-12 indicates that certain members of that church had been struggling with the slavery of same-sex sexual desires. But that passage also indicates that at least some of the church members had accepted Gods grace to repent and turn their lives around.
So Christians need to consider if No Gays signs might be a stumbling block to people who are truly trying to seek the truth in Jesus.
The businesses like the bakery and florist actually did serve gays, but refused their business when it involved same-sex weddings.
Gays, use the rear entrance.
