Tim Cook: Apple Will Oppose Bills Like Indiana's 'Religious Freedom' Law
Apple Chief Executive Tim Cook on Sunday broadened his criticism of a new law in Indiana, which opponents say could be used to discriminate against gay people, to other states that he says have similar laws.
Indiana Gov. Mike Pence signed the Religious Freedom Restoration Act into law Thursday, sparking an outcry from those, including Cook, who say it could be used to protect businesses that refuse to serve gay people. The law's supporters say it will prevent the government from forcing business owners from providing services that go against their religious beliefs.
"These bills rationalize injustice by pretending to defend something many of us hold dear," Cook wrote in a Washington Post op-ed, referring not only to Indiana's law, which goes into effect in July, but also to those of "more than two dozen states."

From fanbois to buttbois.
After 81 posts we have yet to hear from FR’s chief Apple kiss as and his PING list groupies of fellow phony conservatives.
They can run their mouths real good extolling their love for this company until this stuff pops up. Then they scatter like cowards.
I don't think you'll miss them. I don't get the craze for their products. Despite their claims of product "stability," I find that my apple products are prone to crashing at just the inopportune time, freeze up, and are still prone to being hacked with malware. The operating system is a joke.
He will slither in about 9 hours later once he thinks no one is commenting anymore, and give no opinion on this. He will just drop his ping list post and dissappear.
Apple opposes personal choices?
Didn’t see that coming!?
The people at Apple think they’re bigger than Jesus.
So, Tim, refuse to sell any Apple products in Indiana and the 18 states with similar laws. Show some real commitment.
So business owners can use their businesses to promote their beliefs?
Great point. Of course, the history of these cases are political. The owners were targeted for their Christian beliefs. The judges were shopped. What’s the chance of getting a homosexual judge to hear your case?
Can you image the reverse psychology it must take for someone living Tom Cook’s physically and spiritually deadly lifestyle.
This menatl disorder was removed from the DMV in the early ‘70’s only because on political pressure and no new sciece whatsover.
We spend our early childhood years learning, and rightfully so, just how filthy and disease laden feces is.
These people go from knowing that truth, to wallowing in feces and mixing it directly into the bloodstream and calling it love and a good.
Almost 70% of all STD cases and many other bizarre and previously unknown diseases are among less than 3% of the population - male sodomizers.
Aaaaaand the free market will handle this just as it does everything else. There will be a baker who refuses to make wedding cakes for gays, and another baker across town who will gladly do it to pick up the customers turned away by baker #1.
Tim Cook is a FLAMING GAY who only thinks about where his PENIS is going.
I read Tim Cook’s Op-Ed. It was not very compelling. He’s looking at the problem through the lens of his own life experiences, and seems very unable to step outside that perspective to discuss/consider the issue. That’s not a problem unique to him - many struggle with this - me included.
Cook’s fatal flow is the underlying theme throughout the article - he is simply unable to comprehend that a person might have strong religious beliefs that guide their decision to not offer services (which involves association and entering into a contract) contrary to those strong religious beliefs.
“Apple isnt a corporation, its a religion”
Or a Cult.
“Correct me if Im wrong, but I dont recall Microsoft getting mixed up in political battles”
They let their money do the talking. No employees gave more money including Google to the RAT Party in 2012.
If some non-fudge packing company made products as good as Apple’s, I’d buy those.
Gee he better ask Obama about voting for a very similar law in Illinois. For once Obama didn’t just vote present.
I was wondering whether I should go back to an iPhone from Samsung. This has made my decision much easier.
Apple shareholders should try to dump Cook. He’s pissing off 50% of potential US Apple consumers. Not very smart when you are running out of market share to gobble. Apple might start losing market share due to its anti-Christian bigotry.
Is this whinning hypocritical sodomite going to quit selling his phones in the 19 other states that have similar laws as Indiana. Hell would freeze over first.
