President Barack Obama has certainly staked a lot on the fate of likely deserter Bowe Bergdahl. He sacrificed the lives of several of our men in uniform in a vain attempt to rescue him, then traded five Taliban terrorists from Guantanamo Bay for his release.
Now, it appears the president is even willing to obstruct justice for Bergdahl. Recent reports indicate that senior Department of Defense officials are doing their best to poison the well for those prosecuting Bergdahl.

If I were the person in the Army who is forcing this trial, I’d assign judging officers who are at or qualify for full retirement so they could vote their conscience without regard to finishing out their careers.

Further, so many of those pundits supposedly on our side (on Sunday shows, in their weekly columns, from the confines of their DC dachas) speak and have spoken of Obama as the legitimate patriot president with whom we have only had slight amicable differences, i.e., not disagreeing with the goal but the route. They are the loyal-but-not-too-vocal controllable opposition, and they are disgusting maggots feeding on us all.

Obama can end the prosecution right now by issuing a pardon. Or he can, invoking prosecutorial discretion, order the Army to halt the prosecution. Both are within his rights as CinC.
