She has two X chromosomes. She is genetically female. You could make the case that all the years of living as a male were the lie.

Absolutely correct. However, if you were genetically tested and found to be a canine, you would be more of a sensation around your workplace, too.

The person in question was born with hermaphroditic genitalia, and before genetic testing could determine which was the 'right set'.

Genetically, the teacher is a 'she', even though she was raised as a he and medicated to make that so.

In this case, it is a wrong being righted, not one being committed. However, the school district has handled it badly. With kids, there will always be a freak show element to the story, even though there shouldn't be.
