Any status above deportation sucks more illegals to the border and induces more people to lose their visas and disappear. Secure the border is not a useful policy.
Close the border accompanied by consistently imposed fines and jail for anyone who hires an illegal alien for anything at all and free egress at the border. Then start rounding up illegals. Latinos must be the main target. Round up groups of them and put them on old surplus freighters. Leave them in the harbor at Vera Cruz on those freighters and disable the engines. We don't have to do that to more than a couple of boatloads. The rest will head south to the border on their own volition..
Every state that has implemented the enforcement of our laws on the books today, has seen illegal immigrants flee to other states.
If the nation enforced those laws, these people would in large part leave the nation.
Some already have.
It’s a sad commentary that we have to apologize for setting our own immigration policies that in some instances are much more lax than other nation’s policies.
If a guy can’t get behind enforcing our laws on the books, he isn’t “OUR GUY”. He’s “THEIR GUY”.
