Netanyahu aides say Israel-US relationship is a write-off and Iran, not the Palestinian issue, is to blame.
Senior advisers to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have described the relationship between the Obama administration and the Israeli government as irreparable.
The war of words between the two leaders over the last few days has focused on Mr Netanyahu's remarks on the establishment of a Palestinian state and Israel's Arab citizens, but officials in Jerusalem say they are convinced the real reason for the crisis is the difference of opinion on Iran.
The view among Mr Netanyahu's advisers is that President Barack Obama is adamant that Iran must be engaged as a regional ally, and that this is leading to a US-Israel rift that will continue until at least the end of his presidency in January 2017.
Less than 24 hours after polls closed in Israel and Mr Netanyahu's win became evident, the White House was already talking openly about "re-evaluating" the peace process following a pre-election statement by Mr Netanyahu in which he said that a Palestinian state would not be established during his term.
In interviews to US media after the election, Mr Netanyahu attempted to row back, explaining that he was not backtracking from the 2009 Bar Ilan Speech in which he accepted the two-state solution, but was merely saying that in the current regional situation, a Palestinian situation, a Palestinian state was unlikely.

Agree....
I think Obama is relying on "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" meme.
That is why Netanyahu made such a point of correcting that meme to say that sometimes the enemy of my enemy is also MY enemy.
Here's the reason Obama supports Iran.
The Sunni and Shia both agree that Israel must be destroyed.
Obama obviously believes that Iran is better suited to accomplish that feat than any other muslim country (and indeed it is).
Ergo, he (temporarily) supports Iran.
If the U.S. survives until the end of 2016, and a conservative can get elected president, there might be a reconciliation. So, it’s not going to happen.
“Zero is meaningless.”

I think he knows that & that is what makes him so dangerous right now.
I pray you are right, though. (You know what I mean. :) )
“the more I am convinced we should pull everybody out of the region, stay tight with Israel, and let the Shiites and Sunnis fight it out between themselves. “

I agree!!!
If the Israelis think themselves alone & abandoned by the U.S., they might act unilaterally on the assumption that Israel has nothing left to lose with a first strike.
That’s what happened in 1967 when LBJ warned Israel not to attack first.
Netanyahu is wrong. The Israel-Obama relationship is a write-off, and that is because Obama is antisemitic. Obama hates Jews with a passion even stronger than that he normally reserves for bitter Christians who cling to God and to guns.
What if FDR had sought a deal with Hitler in and left England to twist in the wind in 1940?
We would be speaking more German over here, then ... :-) ...
Man am I glad that they were careful to say, “The Obola Administration”. Israel has to know that the US is a big fan. We just messed up pretty f’in huge in electing this guy.
More importantly and to the point, there would be no England.

More accurately the Obama-Israel relationship. But realistic, he has two more years to vent his bile at the Jewish State
Nope. Might seem like that but Israel is here to stay. Forever. The muslims know it too. There’s even video of Hamas soldiers saying we aim, but their God(Jewish God) sends the rockets into the ocean.
Well, duh. How do you think 2 Israeli tanks could hold the Golan Heights against 500 Syrian tanks? Why do you think groups of islamic soldiers surrendered to one Israeli soldier, and when asked, they said there was an entire army behind him? Why were there eyewitness reports of men with flaming swords during the 7 day war? How did Israel defend against 500:1 ratio, in the span of a few days, THEN go onto conquer and seize 2 of the aggressors capitals? They should have leveled those places, and put all the arabs unwilling to assimilate on buses to the closest third world slime holes.
Today most of us would never have been born, or if we had we’d be next in line to be culled. There would be extermination camps all over the world. Be assured that if we had set WWII out Hitler would have come for America as soon as he could have.
Hitler made the french surrender in the same exact spot in the same exact train car that the Germans surrendered to the French in at the end of WWI.
You mistake “damage being done” to Israel ... with ... Israel disappearing. Those are two different things.
According to the Bible SERIOUS DAMAGE is going to be done to Israel and the Jews, but the Messiah of Israel returns to earth “just in the nick of time” to prevent total extermination.
If it weren’t for what the Bible says about God preserving a REMNANT ... I would say, in a normal secular world ... Israel is a goner! There is ONLY ONE THING that tells me different ... and that is the inerrant and infallible Word of God. Other than that, and they would be “history”!
...and on Christians worldwide (as well as here. Oh, wait. We’re terrorists via the DHS memo).
Hitler nearly won. Had he been awakened on D-DAY, not gone whole hog on his Eastern front, and had his scientists been just a little faster with that heavy water/atomic bomb research, we would be sprechen Deutsch, meine Freunden.
Oh, serious damage will be done to Israel. But that is inevitable.
