Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker told a private dinner of New Hampshire Republicans this month that he backed the idea of allowing undocumented immigrants to stay in the country and to eventually become eligible for citizenship, a position at odds with his previous public statements on the matter.

It’s the Chamber of Commerce money.
This never has been his issue by a longshot. It’s on then Cruz vs. Walker
A flip-flop of this magnitude at such an early stage of the game (not even officially running) scratches Walker off my consideration list.
I respect Scott Walker, but “anyone” soft on amnesty is a fool, “if” they wish to preserve the American Republic.
The subject of IMMIGRATION SHOULD be CLOSED until..
The Southern AND Northern border is secure..
that is THE issue—>> already there are adequate laws for immigration..
DEAL BREAKER.
Nice knowing ya, Scott.
Buh-bye!
I guess it will depend on the audience or geography. I remember reading Romney had pro-choice ads in some states and pro-life ads in others.
Yup.
I'm a one issue voter on this one subject, because if we aren't going to be serious about who can legally stay here NOTHING, and I mean nothing, else matters.
100% right.
Didn’t take him long to blow it.
Thinking of the famous line from “On the Waterfront”; “You don’t understand. I coulda had class. I coulda been a contender.”
This may be a replay of the 2008 election. Illegal immigration was a big issue with the American people then as now, and all McCain had to do to win was to run with it. He never mentioned it.
FUSW, GOP Shill!
Scott Walker is a great Governor. He should remain one.
I’m worried that Gov. Walker is going to be the GOPe / Chamber of Commerce back-up go-to-guy when John Ellis Bush falls flat on his arrogant face.
Yes, Walker just shot himself in the head !
This is NOT a “smart” move on his part and he is NOT ready for “prime time”.
Its not amnesty because he will charge them each a $100 fine * before they get full citizenship, to teach them to not do it again**.
* unless their income is too low
** refundable with first their tax return
I find it amusing that anyone who is not in support of the immediate deportation of 12 million illegals is “pro-amnesty”, and “soft on immigration”. Yet, even Ted Cruz hasn’t said that he’d immediately deport all illegals. So - I guess there are no candidates worthy of your votes.
