The protocols that were put in place to stop an attacker from taking control of a plane were used against a captain by his co-pilot that resulted in the Germanwings crash in the French Alps, the airline's CEO suggested today.
The CEO of Lufthansa, which owns Germanwings, spoke today about the safeguards in place to separate the cockpit from the rest of the plane, saying that the co-pilot appears to have purposefully locked his colleague out in the minutes leading up to the fatal crash.

They are silent since in this case, does not fulfill the narrative of not having a job.
so it was terrorism....one way or another....
I listened to the translation of the voice recorder on FOX. It went from the tapping on the door to the sound of great force hitting the door. There was the sound of breathing by the co-pilot on the recording. There was no sound of the canopy collapse. The door, if locked, has a keypad on the outside to gain entry. However, there is a "locked" mode that prevents the keypad access for a 5 minute time limit. The co-pilot activated the "locked" mode to prevent entry, and may have activated it more than once. The question is why he did it? Suicide by airliner seems like a pathetic way to end ones life, when there are other ways to do it. However, if one was ideologically motivated, someone like a Islamic extremist terrorist comes to mind. Then, I ask this question: How many do these Islamist need to kill to make their point?
An Islamic Extremist
I figger the co-pilot was a JOOOO. His name sounds Joooish and depression is a JOOOOISH disease, ain’t it? He prolly was trying to get back at the Krauts for killing his family members. He sounds like a TG also.Maybe he was a Greek Joooo. That would also be a possible way to get back at Angela’s decision to let the Greeks spin in the wind.
This is going to push efforts to develop diagnostic tools to spot ambulatory psychotics. A look at his family history and upbringing should be interesting. 28 and living at home, eh? Also, several background reports stated that he was an exercise fanatic and was seen with “bags of health supplements” at his gym. Anabolic steroids can cause depression.
What is a cockpit canopy? And how, in a pressurized airplane where the interior pressure is about nine psi more than the external pressure, collapse?
I figure I flew on over 200 flights in 2013 and 2014 — a good portion of those in the first class cabin so know the routine used if one pilot needs to exit the cockpit, usually to use the head. Here are the steps: sCaptain turns on the fasten seat belt sign and asks passengers to remain seated (something about turbulence ahead). The front galley crew next rolls a service cart so that it blocks entry to the forward galley area. One of the flight attendants will stand behind the cart facing aft. Once the forward galley area is thus secured, one of the pilots will open the cockpit door and move toward the head. As this is done a second flight attendant will enter the cockpit and close/lock the cockpit door behind her. Any passenger who gets out of their seat is told to return to it; trying to approach the blocking service cart will elicit an order from the flight attendant behing the cart to return to one’s seat immediately. Once finished with the head, the previously exited pilot will return to the cockpit (he knows the code). He then trades places with the flight attendant who earlier entered the cockpit and closes/locks the door. The service cart is then removed from blocking the isle, captain turns off the seat buckle light and announces everyone’s free to move about the aircraft. And you never know if one of the men sitting in an aisle seat toward the front of the first class cabin is in fact an armed Air Marshall.
Thanks for the info. I used to fly over 100,000 miles internationally in a year, but that was years ago.
