They didnt count on the Old White Dude with a bat.
But when 55-year old Eddie Motley saw ten black people beating, stomping, kicking, and punching his neighbor and her two teenage boys, and laughing about it, he did not dial 911.
He grabbed a baseball bat and charged.
Eddie hit the bat on the ground and told them to get off of us, said Gina Herring, who was observing the assault from the fetal position amid a tangle of kicking boots in front of her Concord, North Carolina home. If Eddie didnt step in, I am sure my boys and I would be dead. I was the most scared I have ever been in my life.
One of the attackers said he had a gun and was going to blow my head off, said Herring. Another, a 14-year-old named Nijel, said Im tired of yall white people killing my brothers, then he spit on me.
Herring met Nijel and several other members of the mob three months before when she moved into the neighborhood. Her teenage boys had invited them over to play videogames.
I made them all grilled cheese sandwiches, Herring said. But after they left, we discovered they had stolen several things from our house. So we did not invite them back.
But they came back anyway, once trying to break in, not knowing that Herrings son was at home.
Finally, after three months, on March 16, Nigel and a 16-year-old girl met Herrings 14-year-old son at the bus stop, threatening him with violence. They chased him to our house, saying get that white boy, get that white boy, Herring said.

The conservative approach is to ask “What can we as conservatives do to improve race relations in our nation?”
It is not “How can we white people protect ourselves from this kind of violence?”
That is not a bad question. It is not an unreasonable question. It just isn’t the one that we as conservatives (and we are not all white) should be asking.
you are awesome, really.
BenLurK - “Hey white folk, as you are getting your daily a$$ beating mixed in with racial rape and racial murder, how can you, whitey, stop the black racial violence”
Man you are great.
government's only legitimate role is protecting the rights of individuals to walk the streets free from the fear of death or grievous bodily injury and maintain public order.
How many Irish- Americans seem to be participating in this stuff? Italians? Slavics? Cubans? Eskimos? Redneck Southerners?
When was the last time you were beaten? Was it by a black person? Or maybe a relative?
There have got to be other websites where people who want to talk about a race war can convene.
But it isn’t a conservative discussion.
Ben, you are a delusional person, or you are agenda driven.
But please go on and keep up the white guilt. After all, everyone is doing it.

[Prayer AND Action]
That is what I stated.
Violence will be dealt with - Gods way, Gods time if we only believe and act according to His will.
By the way, Psalms 91 works.
It is not How can we white people protect ourselves from this kind of violence?
Your heart is certainly in the right place! But ideally the above statements should read:
The conservative approach is to ask What can everyone do to improve race relations in our nation?
And conservatives should ask How can we white people protect ourselves from this kind of violence?

As to the first point, I'm tired of "race conversation" being a code phrase for "here's what wrong with whites". I'm sure you'll agree with that.
As to the second point, all good people need to be protected. I'm sure you, and all conservatives, would agree with that.
I think I see the point you are making here, and appreciate it. Also appreciate your clarifications and expansions that give a better view of what you are saying.
This isn’t a racial issue. It’s a cultural one. The issue is that a few generations of socio-political indoctrination in identity politics have created an accepted construct where race = culture = identity. To the point where it’s damn near impossible to separate them out again - criticisms of culture (and behavior) are too intertwined with “race”, to the point where going after a culture that permits, even champions, this kind of mob violence is pegged and dismissed as racism.
Ummm, not it isn't. On top of that, we weren't the first... or even close.
Denmark was the first European country to ban slavery. In 1807 Britain declared the slave trade to be illegal. Sweden in 1813, The Netherlands in 1814, France in 1815, Spain in 1820.
(Another interesting ntoe: Between 1811 and 1870, 60 percent of African slaves were transported to Brazil, 32 percent to Cuba, and 3 percent to the US... although many that arrived in Cuba went next to the US.)
U.S. officially banned the importation of slaves in 1807 too.
Action from whom, God or Man? Because if man is not doing some action, we are back to square one of being Amish.
By the way, Psalms 91 works.
hey tank, when a white couple are walking down the street minding their business, its not a group of “cultures” that are playing knockout game.
when a white girl is alone in a park and is suddenly surrounded by blacks to be raped, they ain’t using “culture” to violate her.
When they made the movie Mississippi Burning, the scene where the black folks get burned in the church. Director should have shown the perps as “cultures”.
Every second of every day today all of academics and all MSM harp on white racism where there is none, white privilege where there is none - yet we as a Nation are terrified to call out blacks for their overwhelming racial violence the last 10-15 years.
Holder was right about one thing, we (pale faces) are a nation of cowards.
“and act according to His will”
Ok, now we have the meat and potatoes. And I agree, without God’s hand, in the end the action taken is in vain.
But now we have a whole ‘nother ball game. When is it go time?
“When is it go time?”
We must be open to the leading the Holy Spirit.
George Washington did not go into any conflict without earnestly consulting with THE COMMANDER IN CHIEF on his knees.
It’s high time we follow that example.
1 TIMOTHY 2:1-4
I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people 2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. 3 This is good, and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.
