the report is that they heard the two pilots talking normally then one of them left the cockpit and then could not get back in...they heard gentle tapping and then louder more urgent pounding on the door...

the pilot in the cockpit could have suffered a severe medical emergency OR he could have meant to lock the door and had terror on his mind...

do cockpit doors automatically lock?

if they heard the talk and the tapping, then they must have a time associated with it I think...so they could match that up with the start of the descent...

Someone took the plane off autopilot and aimed the plane at the mountain.

The cockpit door is set to “normal” which means that the only way back in is with a code(That way a passenger can’t get in the plane..I think this became standard after 9/11) if its set to “Lock” even with a code the pilot wouldn’t be able to get back in, that would assume that the person inside set it to lock so the pilot couldn’t get back in..no way did a medical emergency cause this this was a deliberate act
