Despite being vehemently opposed to Obamacare, Ted Cruz is signing up for insurance under President Obamas health care law.
The Texas Republican Senator and newly-announced presidential candidate, known for his staunch opposition to the Affordable Care Act, told CNN on Tuesday that he will be joining the millions of Americans enrolled in insurance under the law.

By signing up, he can say that he KNOES what people stuck with being on Obamacare are going through. One of his main issues is the hypocrisy in DC, like the pols who voted for Obamacare but aren't stuck with it.
Brilliant move, Senator Good Ted will testify to all of the shortcomings...
just imagining what this thread would be like if it were Rand Paul or Scott Walker
LMAO!
And you don’t think he’s thought that out? Really? Just stand back and watch.
Exactly right. This campaign's going to be a lot of fun to witness.
LOL! I know your right, he can say it till he is blue in the face they’ll never shut up about it. I’m reading these comments on Huffington, the dregs of lib websites, and it’s just on and on and on and on about him being born in Canada. Oh yeah and his wife working for Goldman Sachs so ergo he is an evil capitalist. Repub. candidates can’t have money, only Democrap ones. What’s Hitlery and Bills combined worth now, $200 million? But they won’t say a word about that.
Since Cruz is going to push for the complete repeal of zerocare, he will/would likely get attacked if he wasn’t signed up himself. Attacked as a cold hearted elitist that is unconcerned for the millions that will lose insurance.
In addition, Cruz will have a front row seat and can speak directly about his and his families experiences.
It’s a very smart thing for him to do.
Cruz and his family no longer qualify for the private health insurance they held through Goldman Sachs. He does NOT qualify for a subsidy. Why does everyone think that all Obamacare is is extended Medicaid or a subsidy? It is available to those who CANNOT be covered through private employment, and it applies to members of Congress who don’t otherwise have it through their spouses.
I think it's more likely a calculated decision on his part. He has said he wants to repeal every word of Obamacare. That would lead to a lot of people losing coverage, and he'd be one of them. How can anyone call him hypocritical for advocating that if he has skin in the game?
He’s not taking the Senate’s policy, I guess. This will show that he is not taking the elitist choice.
Well... to him, it is only a tax flea bite. He is paying his own doctors money on the table.
Bingo.
LOL....
If he is actually going to try to get an Obamacare doctor... well he at least is going to have some stories to tell. I hope he does have his concierge MD on speed dial just in case!
Yup, I like it.
I’m vehemently opposed to vehicle registration and driver licensure.
I’ve just renewed the plate on one car and checked the expiration date on my driver’s license.
Guess I’m just a big ol’ hypocrite.
