Not on the 787.
guest on FOX just mentioned possible criminal act. (Jim Hall former NTSB chair)
Former NTSB, Jim Hall - first to speculate there is possibility it could be criminal activity.
Oh lawd, the pictures of those mountains and crash site look impossible to get to.
The Costa Brava is hugely popular with German and British, who take there annual fortnightly vacations there..Spain is very inexpensive by comparison. I was stationed in Barcelona from 70-72...I lived in a little beach town..Castelldellfels..outside Barcelona..during the winter the population was about 3,000..in the summer months..over 20,000...think Jersey shore..
Criminal activity - as if someone was trying to steal it or maybe someone took too much of a depreciation expense in tax evasion.
Erm, 447 was brought down by the idiot pilot. Yes, the pitot tubes froze, but idiot kept pulling back on the stick for no apparent reason and the plane stalled.
Lost of cabin pressure.
Lost of engine(s)
Fire
If the implication is that 25 year old jets are prone to breaking down mid-flight and falling out of the sky, they can just go ahead and shut down the airline industry now.
Reports have it as a clear air flight. Pitot issues possible but unlikely. The pitot issue seems to croy up in foul weather were massive icing occers due to deluge.
occurs-oops
AFP: Enormous noise - A police helicopter said the crash happened in a mountainous area called Les Trois Eveches, rising to 1,400 metres and very difficult to access.
A witness who was skiing in the area described having “heard an enormous noise”, a French television channel reported.
The French civil aviation authority said the plane disappeared from radar screens after issuing the distress call over Barcelonette, about 100 km north of the resoirt of Cannes.
The fact that Shep Smith is on the air at 0800 is very troubling. Note well that the "coverage" is 99% babbling speculation and 1% news.
"If it bleeds, it leads."
Now the count is 150 passengers/flight crew.
Allahu we’re going down akbar?
Video of crash site: http://snpy.tv/1FT0Dk6
...a steep uncontrolled descent...
BBC: A hotel worker in Digne, the closest town to the suspected crash site, has told BBC Radio 5 live the plane was flying “very low”. William says there are now several helicopters arriving at the site of the accident. He added that access to the crash site will be “very difficult” and that the area, normally covered in snow, is currently dry.
oh sheesh. He’s had all sorts of pilots and professionals on. He is also reading updates and passing them along.
