Starbucks features average coffee, overly sweet additives, exorbitant prices, long lines, mediocre service and people with laptops monopolizing the available seating. I only go when invited by someone who wants to sit and talk over coffee. If they want to throw in a lecture on race, I won't go at all.

There are several Dunkin Donuts locations near me that have been remodeled in the last 6-9 months. Now they have comfortable seating and Wi-Fi access ... which means they now have the same amenities that draw a lot of folks to Starbucks, and can offer better coffee for a lower price, too.

Their coffee is horrid. It tastes burned and acidy. Ugh. I don’t know how anyone can actually drink that stuff.

In my not so humble opinion, you feature a tendency to be overly generous in your appraisal. I have never been in a Starbucks but I have tried a sample of their coffee that they sent in the mail and if that is average I don’t want to ever see any BELOW average coffee. I tend to agree with the “Ultimate Jew” on the quality of Starbucks coffee. To me it is the supreme example of the triumph of marketing over common sense.
