I understand, but if every story about Chuck E Cheese brawls or knockout games was followed with I bet its some blacks again, it would might get overwhelming. I guess my reply to that has to be bifurcated:
- True, but that overwhelmingness is not really avoided simply by using "Amish" instead of "Black".
- Ultimately, what matters is that the brawls and knockout "games" and other violence is perpetrated by people who are thugs, criminals, and other types of ne'er-do-wells, and that is what most matters, not their color or ethnicity. The perp's action is, and should be, illegal, independent of the background of the perp.
The fact that they are often Black is of statistical interest to those who collect or monitor statistics, of course. But the victims of those crimes are no more and no less injured, robbed, or killed if the perp is black, white, brown, yellow, or green.
Personally, I think that if we are going to have interest in statistics of crime by race, color, ethnicity, sex, political party affiliation, sexual preference, or the type of car they drove, we should just be up-front about it and not try to whitewash it with pseudo-humorous ironic misdirection. So to speak... :)
