Here is the latest tweet:
"Tonight around midnight there will be some news you wont want to miss. Stay tuned "
Looks like Ted and crew are going to announce via social media ahead of the speech tomorrow at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. The covocation is typically at 10:00 AM but there is very little information on the Liberty Univ. website.
Political Positions:
Cruz is pro-life, with an exception only when a pregnancy endangers the mother’s life.
Cruz opposes same-sex marriage, stating that he instead supports marriage “between one man and one woman,” but believes that the legality of same-sex marriage should be left to each state to decide..... On February 10, 2015, Cruz re-introduced the State Marriage Defense Act.
Cruz is a gun-rights supporter..... On March 25, 2013, an announcement was made by Cruz and U.S. Senators Rand Paul and Mike Lee threatening that they would filibuster any legislation that would entail gun control, such as the Manchin-Toomey Amendment, which would require additional background checks on sales at gun shows..... On April 17, 2013, Cruz voted against the Manchin-Toomey Amendment. Republicans successfully filibustered the amendment by a vote of 5446, as 60 votes were needed for cloture.
Cruz has raised concerns that the National Security Agency has not done effective surveillance of potential terrorists while intruding needlessly into the lives of ordinary Americans.
Cruz opposes net neutrality because he argues that the Internet economy has flourished in the United States simply because it has remained largely free from government regulation.... He believes regulating the Internet will stifle online innovation and create monopolies..... He has expressed support for stripping the Federal Communications Commission of its power under Section 706 of the Telecommunications Act of 1996 to ensure net neutrality, and opposes reclassifying internet service providers as common carriers under Title II of the Communications Act of 1934...... He opposes an internet sales tax, saying that doing so would hurt competition by creating additional costs for internet-based businesses.
He was an original co-sponsor of the Keystone XL Pipeline Act, Senate Bill 1 of the 114th Congress. And on January 29, 2015, he voted for its passage.... It passed the Senate 62-36, the goal of the bill was to approve the construction of the transnational pipeline.... Cruz wants Congress to approve the exportation of U.S. natural gas to World Trade Organization countries.
Cruz opposes the legalization of marijuana, but believes it should be decided at the state level.
Cruz is a strong critic of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, which he usually refers to as “Obamacare”. ...He has sponsored legislation that would repeal the health care reform law and its amendments in the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010.
Of course it’s shopped (been floating around for years)...It’s actually a pic of a Johnny Cash performance.
As far as “Presidential”, I’d much prefer this mock-up and the Sabo tattooed art rather than effeminate Obama on a bike. In a way, it speaks to a whole new audience (and more youthful) outside the party plantations.
TC had a good laugh saying, Saw this, but noticed an error. So I wanted to make one thing clear: I dont smoke cigarettes.
I know it won’t make me popular to say it around here, but I have serious problems with his positions on both life and marriage.
I hope to meet with him here in Iowa at some point in the not-too-distant future to air those disagreements with him personally.
“but I have serious problems with his positions on both life and marriage.”
So what? It is obvious you have serious problems. The question is why do you have the need to tell everyone here about it?
There are a couple things I don’t agree on his positions as well that are important to me....but it’s not significant enough to offset that which is so very favorable...I stress that because the man believes what he says IMO. I think he’s the real deal.
I’ve been following Cruz since Sept 2013....in the next months, as he runs, he’s going to try and win those who are not conservative and I suspect he might say some things I won’t like....but the man has the package I’m looking for in a President.
Hope you get your answers soon.
BTW...On marriage he’s solid...”Between a man and a woman”..and he is Pro-life...if there’s any issue it might be for some that he also believes states should decide on these issues...not the Fed. government.
He has the 'blacklisted' poster on a t-shirt...perhaps this one will appear on a shirt, as well.
Cruz to Victory!
I think it is a bit early to announce but Ted is quite capable.
He knows how to work a crowd and he knows how to work enemies.
Love it!
Artist ‘Sabo’ has that image on a t-shirt...pricey, but worth it! Can’t wait to get mine!
EVERYONE that supports Cruz should donate TODAY...even if only ten bucks.
Go Cruz!
Here’s exert’s from an interesting article on Cruz I thought you’d find interesting since you know how these races seem to form up...
The speaker begins saying:
“Think of the Republican primary field as a series of lanes.
In this race, there are four of them:
Establishment,
Tea Party,
Social Conservative
Libertarian.
The four lanes are not of equal size:
Establishment is the biggest followed by Tea Party, Social Conservative and then Libertarian. (I could be convinced that Libertarian is slightly larger than Social Conservative, but it’s close.)
Obviously the fight for the top spot in the Establishment lane is very crowded, with Bush and possibly Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker leading at the moment.
Ditto the Social Conservative lane with former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, Ben Carson and Rick Santorum all pushing hard there.
The Libertarian lane is all Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul’s but, as I noted above, it’s still not that big.
Which leaves the Tea Party lane, which is both relatively large and entirely Cruz’s.
While Paul looked as though he might try to fight Cruz for supremacy in that lane at one time, it’s clear from his recent moves that the Kentucky senator is trying to become a player in a bunch of lanes, including Social Conservative and Establishment.
So, Cruz is, without question, the dominant figure in the Tea Party lane.
What that means particularly in the early stages of the primary process in places like Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina is that he will likely be able to win, place or show repeatedly, wracking up enough strong-ish performances to keep going even as the Establishment lane and the Social Conservative lane begin to thin out.
(Cruz’s ability to raise money, which remains a question, is less important for him than it is for other candidates especially those in the Establishment lane. His people are going to be for him no matter how much or little communicating he does with them.)
The trick for Cruz, according to this consultant, is to hang around long enough to not only be the preeminent figure in the Tea Party lane but also in the Social Conservative lane.
(Cruz is decidedly conservative on social issues and talks regularly about his faith on the campaign trail.)
The complicating figure in that consolidation effort is Huckabee, who is ...a) likely to run,.. b) an ordained Southern Baptist minister,.. and c) likely to be able to stay in the race for an extended period of time because of the number of Southern primaries in the early stages of the primary process.
Go Cruz!!!
Best News of the past 6 Years!!! GO TED!!!
He doesn’t have a snowball’s chance in hell of getting the nomination. He may play well to the tea party crowd, outside of that, everyone thinks he is a nutcase.
I sent a note to the RNC.
“I will be supporting Ted Cruz for President. I hope the RNC will be doing the same”
All of us can send a note to the RNC..today!
He’s too qualified. Seriously, when has someone with these kind of credentials actually won.
