According to a recently released internal memo, Starbucks baristas will no longer write "Race Together" on customers' cups starting Sunday.
Starbucks spokesman Jim Olson says the campaign to create discussion on diversity and racial inequality will continue without the handwritten messages, which are phasing out as originally planned.

Yeah, as planned, right, sure.
I think the questions of why no Starbucks in Ferguson was the real impact...
Remember the Thermos
Michael Jordan might have said that, but Steve Jobs did too ... :-) ...
but, I used to buy frappachinos for my dtr...no longer....and no more gift cards for my adult children..no more fancy mugs from Starbucks overpriced merchandize...
I can get behind that movement.
Ratsbuck’s ...shut up and serve the coffee. I do get the used coffee grinds for the garden from Starbuck’s so they serve a worthy purpose, ehehehehe.
I assume that’s a font. I want it.
there’s not that many blacks in the NW relatively...but there are lots of asians and latinos to pick from...
I go to the best convenience store/gas station in the US too ... QuikTrip (never seen a better one in the country) and I get coffee on the run there, too. It’s not much different from Starbucks for coffee. So I don’t see it as having money to burn but pretty normal.
The only difference between QuikTrip and Starbucks is that I get really fast Internet at Starbucks (faster than any other place I’ve EVER been to) and I use it for my downloads on my iPad, so I don’t burn through my cellular data plan ... :-) ...
AND ... I enjoy my conversations with other regulars at Starbucks on Evangelical Christianity and conservative politics!
What not to like about that?!
Here’s QuikTrip’s website for those who have never been to this FANTASTIC place! They have “Top Tier gasoline” too ... which is the ONLY gasoline I will get for my car!

Outside of the coffee perhaps a very basic question should be asked? What is a ‘racist’?
They can start by discussing why all the bigwigs are white.
Save the image and print it on labels.
Well, in Oregon, blacks were not allowed in the state, per their state constitution. But, they had to change that ... :-) ...
You can believe Starbucks suffered and they suffered greatly.
Evidently that company gets some kind of tax break or good locations and yeah, they’re a bunch of stupid libs. But hey take commands from the administration but you got to know Obama’s probably a Starbucks drinker.
But man, we should bow down and thank these people because the LAST thing people want to do over morning coffee is discuss race, I’ll go out on a limb and suggest both blacks and whites didn’t much care for this.
And I’m thinking the baritas hated it, dear Lord they were the innocent messengers.
Someday we’ll all sit around talking about this being the damn dumbest move made by a corporation over the centuries.
It’s NOT what selling coffee is about.
Meanwhile, yon reader, BUY STOCK IN DUNKING DONUTS!
Heh
I go to the same place I’ve went for year, the gun shop. Walk in get a cup and throw 50 cents into the coffee can, then sit down and listen to the BS.
Isn't that the same thing that the left claims about the Koch brothers and why they should be burned at the stake? The only problem is that there isn't a Kochbucks store to protest and boycott.
I had to look that up; incredible. FWIW, NJ still had slaves when Oregon started passing those laws, so Yankees should stop pointing fingers...
I like Starbucks coffee ok but, outside of a gift card given to me, I haven’t purchased any in years. With this new PC campaign, I have even less reasons to spend $ there. Besides, got me a good Breville espresso machine and brew Lavazza at home. Ummm, Italian coffee heaven!
