BROWNSVILLE, Texas The U.S. Government lied to a federal judge, misrepresented facts and illegally gave 100,081 illegal aliens immigration status despite a pending lawsuit and an injunction. That is the argument that attorneys representing Texas and more than two dozen other states made.
During the heated court hearing Andrew Hanen, a U.S. District Court Judge, said that the apparent violation had made him look like an idiot since he initially believed the U.S. Government.
In a heated court hearing Angela Colmonero from the Texas Attorney Generals office stated that Texas had acted promptly in November 2014 upon learning of President Barack Obamas executive amnesty and had followed all the timelines set forth with a sense of urgency.
This was done to preserve the status quo and to prevent irreparable damage to the state, Colmonero said referring to the cost that the individuals would bring and to the incentive for further illegal immigration. You cant put toothpaste back in the tube.
During the hearings leading to an injunction handed down by Judge Hanen, attorneys with the Department of Justice claimed that if an injunction was filed nothing would be done. That wasnt the case, the Texas attorney said.
The defendant did the exact opposite and gave 100,000 renewals for a term of three years under the expanded DACA, Colmonero said. The defendant didnt inform the court until March 315 days after the injunction was filed.
According to Colmoneros statements, the program known as DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival) was implemented in 2012; however in November 2014 it was expanded, changing the time of the permits from two years to three years. Therefore the permits issued by the U.S. Government are a violation.
The coalition of states asked the court to give them early access as to the defendants...

“...made him look like an idiot since he initially believed the U.S. Government.”
A common problem. 80% of the U.S. population has done the same. Don’t feel too bad.
That’s 100,081 violations of the law. Nothing will change until people start going to jail.
Whatever the penalty is, it should be multiplied by 100,081.
Why would the administration care? They’ve been found in contempt before and nothing happened.
“a U.S. District Court Judge, said that the apparent violation had made him look like an idiot since he initially believed the U.S. Government.”
So what? Im tired of politicians and judges being “angry” without using the punch in the face remedies they all possess. If you wont do anything about it,,,, you are as bad as Obama.
Imagine how you would feel, Judge, if they told you didn’t have standing?
Frogwalk Øbama out of the White House and throw him in jail along with Holder for contempt of court.
Yup. They can’t believe it was that bad if they don’t use their power to the fullest extent they can, especially when THEY get screwed.
Maybe this judge cant hold the President in contempt (the remedy against a sitting President being impeachment, conviction and removal from office), but he sure can hold numerous underlings, henchmen and factotums in contempt and issue bench warrants for their arrest.
I think the effect could be salutary if implementers are held to the law. Might make others think twice before acting illegally just because their boss tells them to.
Unfortunately, unless and until the RNC on their own make ads of Obama’s unconstitutional misdeeds and bring it to the attention of the public, most are blissfully ignorant of this. Unlike Left wing media outlets like Moveon.org etc, the right does not know how to street fight a community organizer.
Jackpot! You got it!
Your Honor, the federal government has made you look like a fool - what would you have done if it was Apple or Exxon? Why haven’t you applied your normal response? Time to start making some summary judgments.
That is what needs to happen. Following orders is not an excuse for breaking the law. People who do it need to go to jail, all the way up to the jerk off running DHS.
In the latest news in the war against the United States, 100,081 more enemy troops were added on the southern front....
It should be embarrassing for anyone who takes the word of this Justice Department at face value. Shaping desirable court outcomes and muscling suckers and naïve cone heads is their full time job.
Where in the judge’s whine will the Justice Dept find any consequence whatsoever? It’s a stand off with the clock running, between one branch of government against another, and the Alamo for us.
John V, that’s a great point. If the judge held the complicit underlings for contempt of court and sentenced them to the slammer for a spell, it would smash through Gang Obama’s veneer of invincibility. That would be huge. It would scare the sychophants to learn this administration is not impregnable. Obama’s got less than 2 years before he holes up at Casa Magnum PI in Hawaii with Reggie. The other misecreants of Club Fed have their careers, reputations and pensions to consider. From all accounts, this judge is not about to buckle.
need to read in morning ... dozing off.
I was busted out on another thread for criticizing Judge Hanen. My point was - what’s he gonna do? NO ONE will ever be held accountable for the hundreds of thousands of ‘passes’ issued in the name of hussein.
Yes, the judge looks like an idiot, so do our elected masters who do nothing to stop this or, at a minimum, hold anyone accountable for their illegal actions.
Judge Andrew, you ARE an idiot. Let’s see what we can do to correct this. Hold these people accountable. Please.
“(the remedy against a sitting President being impeachment, conviction and removal from office)”
It’s impeachment, removal from office, conviction.
The Government may have mislead, but it was the Attorney’s that lied, and the process for that is well established. The lawyers get thrown under the bus. Sanctioned by the court, fined, perhaps a criminal referral if one can be made and first and foremost disbarment.
I’m not sure why anyone would believe anything the federal government government has to say on any subject at all.
