The problem here is that it sets up the groundwork for sanctions, first, and then military action later. And it would be the basis for the cut-off of all American Aid to Israel, all that woud wreak HAVOC with Israel’s economy and military defense. Israel basically CANNOT AFFORD THAT!

Believe me, Israel will need to GET AHEAD OF THIS and negotiate the best deal they can, and NOT let this get into the hands of the UN Security Council. Once that starts there, EVERYTHING goes downhill from that point!!

Totally correct. This is a grave peril for Israel. It will be a trivial task to get the UN to vote to sanction Israel for not recognizing these "internationally recognized", i.e., pre-67 borders. Then it's damned if they do and damned if they don't: retreat to the indefensible borders and suffer a thousand cuts, or defy the UN and get hammered economically, culturally etc. The only way out is to get the US to actually support its traditional ally and the only way to get the regime to do that is by what???? Is there any way to get maybe Russia or China to come around and defend Israel against this lunacy in the security council?

this is Obama’s game of chicken and if Israel flinches, she LOSES and LOSES BIG (loses her security, to be followed within a short while by another Arab attack on the much-weakened and miniatured country.... designed to snuff her out.

Israel cannot give away the high country in her middle and she cannot give away the border buffer lands along the eastern front. turn those into more gaza murder launching bases,, no pratical defense will be possible

so Israel cannot give in to Obama on this, whether he pushes a UN resoltion or 666 UN resolutions, no matter.
