OBAMA MULLS SUPPORTING UN RESOLUTION THAT PUSHES ISRAEL BACK TO PRE-1967 BORDERS

President Barack Obama is considering agreeing to a United Nations Security Council resolution “embodying the principles of a two-state solution that would be based on the pre-1967 lines between Israel and the West Bank and Gaza Strip and mutually agreed swaps,” a senior administration official has told the New York Times.

Security experts along with Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, have long argued that pushing Israel back to its pre-1967 Arab-Israeli war boundaries would make it impossible for the Israeli military to defend the Jewish state.

“The premise of our position internationally has been to support direct negotiations between the Israelis and the Palestinians,” a senior White House officials who refused to reveal their identity told the Times. “We are now in a reality where the Israeli government no longer supports direct negotiations. Therefore we clearly have to factor that into our decisions going forward.”

Some have argued that the administration’s new pressure towards the Jewish state stems from anger over Netanyahu’s successful reelection as the country’s Prime Minister.

The Israeli Prime Minister has previously explained directly to Obama why the 67’ lines are non-negotiable for Israel’s defense. “Israel wants peace. I want peace,” but “a peace based on illusions will crash eventually on the rocks of Middle Eastern reality,” Netanyahu explained to the President in a 2011 meeting.

President Obama took the position in 2011 that the borders of Israel and a future Palestinian state “should be based on the 1967 lines with mutually agreed swaps.”

Israel has made a mistake in accepting the concept that its borders, even its mythical “right to exist”, can have a basis in UN resolutions.

Israel’s borders are defined in Genesis 13, and if that does not confer legitimacy and a right to exist, then Israel has neither.

Totally correct. This is a grave peril for Israel. It will be a trivial task to get the UN to vote to sanction Israel for not recognizing these "internationally recognized", i.e., pre-67 borders. Then it's damned if they do and damned if they don't: retreat to the indefensible borders and suffer a thousand cuts, or defy the UN and get hammered economically, culturally etc. The only way out is to get the US to actually support its traditional ally and the only way to get the regime to do that is by what???? Is there any way to get maybe Russia or China to come around and defend Israel against this lunacy in the security council?

this is Obama’s game of chicken and if Israel flinches, she LOSES and LOSES BIG (loses her security, to be followed within a short while by another Arab attack on the much-weakened and miniatured country.... designed to snuff her out.

Israel cannot give away the high country in her middle and she cannot give away the border buffer lands along the eastern front. turn those into more gaza murder launching bases,, no pratical defense will be possible

so Israel cannot give in to Obama on this, whether he pushes a UN resoltion or 666 UN resolutions, no matter.

There are TWO FREAKING Pre-1967 lines. One before the 1967 war, and another after the koranimals had their asses handed to them.

I certainly agree on the latter 1967 line.

The original line established by the British before they bailed was calculated to let nature and 30-1 odds against Israel to resolve the wishes of the British Petroleum's muslim partners.

That Israel prevailed and survived just screwed up the carefully laid plans.

I have often wish I knew how to manipulate photoshop competently enough to pick a county in the center of the United States the same size as Israel, and contrast it with the surrounding counties and states representing the arab/muslims koranimals hell-bent on destroying Israel.

Even the most ignorant, uninformed koranimal-lovers would be forced to admit that the ongoing survival of Israel in nothing short of miraculous! And a survival instinct unequaled by any other known culture in history.

The thing with that is that Prime Minister Netanyahu has ALREADY signed onto this process of doing so, and has had this policy in place for YEARS, and he reaffirms that he has NOT changed his policy. He has outlines VERY SPECIFIC CONDITIONS meant for the security of Israel, and to be discussed IN NEGOTIATIONS with the Palestinian Authority,

Netanyahu has said for a long time, that he would go at any time, to any place and speak with anyone in regards to forming the Palestinian State in final status negotiations with the Palestinian Authority.

This isn’t Obama speaking here, that I’m talking about ... but is the policy and the actions of the newly voted-in-again Prime Minister of Israel!
