President Obamas spokesman urged the top tax chairmen in Congress Thursday not to lose any sleep about the possibility of the president raising taxes through unilateral executive action.
To the extent that there is a lot of fretting and hand-wringing on Capitol Hill, I would urge them to not lose any sleep over this, said White House press secretary Josh Earnest, who added that the president doesnt have any imminent decision to announce on taxes.

If Republican lawmakers are worried, he said, maybe its worth burning a little midnight oil to try to get to work in bipartisan fashion to take some common-sense steps in the direction of business-tax reform that would make our tax code more fair but also stand to channel more benefits to the middle class.

Very well said.
Can you imagine if Tony Snow (God rest his soul) had said something even close to this, the media would be having fits.
Of course Snow was a gentleman and would not think of going down this road. Earnest wouldn’t make a pimple...well, you know the rest.
“Not imminent” means next week.
It’s disgusting that the Republicans will do nothing to stop Obama’s war on America.
-— Its not incompetence. Its brilliant evil. -—
Yep. It’s not particularly brilliant, but it’s determined.
The next president will have to form the Office of Executive Order Cancellation to handle all of Obama’s Congress-bypassing illegal orders. Cleaning up after this reprobate will be a major job.
That was before the Senate finalized and passed the ACA and Justice Roberts declared the penalty/fine for an individual who chooses to not purchase a policy under the ACA standard is a TAX. That destroyed the Constitutional concept of LAW so I guess now anything goes and the fraud can now raise our taxes through the stroke of his pin.
Sadly you’re probably correct with the current crop of critters in DC, we desparately need a near clean sweep to start over.
The middle class doesn’t need “benefits channeled” to it. We need the feds to leave us the hell alone. We don’t need a middle man to take money from us and then hand back a smaller amount as a “benefit”. Stop taxing us into the poor house you freaks.
You’re so right. This talk of wealth redistribution crud from 0bama and the Rats is getting old.
Perhaps if they’d work lower corporate taxes it would open up countless jobs and enable people to EARN a living instead of so many being on the dole.
I just wish the GOPe would at least fight! Show some resistance.
Amen to that, their cowering is really getting old.
Yep Josh, the Congress should work in a Bipartisan Fashion to LOWER ALL TAXES. That will help the Middle Class nicely.
Notice how Obama puts a Geeky White Dude out there to communicate his Daily Pronouncements to the Little People?
It is not only evil, things are worse than we know.
We are being replaced as a citizenry by foreign nationals beholden only to Obama and his Marxists. The rate of invasion and their birthrates ensures Americans become a minority on their own nation in a few short years.
We are already past the point of redressing this tyranny via civil means and time to do anything about this at all is rapidly running out.
American Conservatives are this generation’s Jews in a nation fundamentally transformed in a fascist tyranny all around them.
As it was 70 plus years ago - we are fast approaching the time where our own arms are not going to be enough to save us from what they intend to do to us.
Embarrassing how impotent Obama thinks, no knows, Congress is. He talks to them like they’re his employees instead of the people’s. No, wait, wrong again, they are his employees.
No perhaps about it. The best “wealth redistribution” is to let everyone keep a lot more of their own pay; and to have the opportunity to earn more pay through better jobs and growing the company, without paying higher taxes the more they earn.
Rats are such turds.
Obama’s final two years will be like a runaway freight train and all the Republicans will do is wave as it goes by. Sad.
