Truly sorry to hear that. I lost my father early to Agent Orange exposure. I hope you become reconciled to your loss.

Don't be offended ... the thread is concerning how it got here, not about what it does ...

Probably riding on a bus....it was back in the 30s and it was rampant.
My Mom,my brother, and I never got it but I still test positive when administered the Tine Test. There has been something hidden in my body all of those years.Amazing.

BCG
Bacille Calmette-Guérin (BCG) is a vaccine for tuberculosis (TB) disease. This vaccine is not widely used in the United States, but it is often given to infants and small children in other countries where TB IS COMMON.

Tuberculosis was the reason a lot of towns banned spitting on the sidewalk.
When people got home they sat down and took off their shoes and touched the sputum.

FWIW, tested positive (to exposure) and symptomatic are two quite different things.
Many health care workers test positive to exposure just due to having treated a TB patient at some point. You go in and get a chest x-ray and if nothing shows up, you are cleared to continue. Most never go on to symptomatic.
