"Will the GOP Kick It Away?"

A 'Do bears defecate in the woods?' moment if there ever was one...

The GOP will flawlessly punt, as if they'd just been downed in their own end zone...

This is more automatic than a pro football extra point where the defensive team is not even trying for a block.

There are one too many members of Freerepublic who openly support Putin and his empire building. This thread will bring them sadness.

I thought he was a thug. But then again (and not related to “thug” Putin) Buchanan is an AntiSemite. I guess everyone’s got their problems ... :-) ...

I don't think anyone outside the far left echo chamber takes Obama seriously. Israeli voters just proved that, even if they are tired of their Prime Minister, they will support Netanyahu if Obama opposes him. The Arab world and Iran have proven that they see Obama as a chance to abuse the United States under shockingly weak leadership. Even the mainstream media see Obama as so delicate and weak that they cannot afford to criticize him in any way. I doubt that Putin cares what Obama says about anything.

President Putin is not our friend, but he has my respect. As for Resident Mom Jeans, I despise him for his beliefs and his actions. Anyone who hates America and works to destroy our country is not worthy of anything better than contempt.

Pat doesn’t care about Israel. Bottom line.

Buchanan has boxed himself in as the “Token Anti-Israel Conservative” by past actions, so now he has no choice but to side with Obama and Kerry. He’s a joke.

What the hell is Buchanan smoking? I know he’s an isolationist and anti-Israel, but does he really think a nuclear treaty is gonna stop Iran from building nuclear weapons? What’s worse is Pat seems to trust this administration to make a good deal with them. Pat’s a clown. There were a ton of conservatives who were drinking the kool-aid in 1992 and 1996 for this guy. For him not to see the big picture in all of this is not shocking to me but that conservatives still buy this guy’s act is laughable.

Is this what America wants, a president who will call the ruler of Russia, who has thousands of nuclear weapons and is supported by 85 percent of its people, a "thug"? Is that presidential leadership?

How does name-calling at that level advance U.S. interests?

Interesting comment from someone who less than a year ago defended President Reagan for calling the Soviet Union an "evil empire."

If you read his ranting it’s not about Putin as much as US foreign policy in general. We all know Pat’s and isolationist.

“Is that presidential leadership?”

Yes it is, Pat. Real leaders aren’t intimidated by thugs.

Buchanan as he frequently dies makes some worhwhe arguments. And as he frequently does he manages to inject anti semitism into his editorials. Even when unnecessary to his arguments. He really needs to pray or read his Bible or seek help from his priest to get over this ( before it’s too late for him)
