I’m kind of liking the parliamentary system recently. Ever since we got a King in the US the parliamentary system makes more sense to me.
Issue with the US is that if the President wants to ignore everything he can and there isn’t anything to stop him (assuming he’s popular enough). So we are basically voting for a dictator.
In a parliament you’re basically voting for a king of congress so there is no real dictator. If you lose their support you’re done. The down side is it can have sweeping changes from parliament to parliament; however, as we see with the US system...if the King/president wants to do whatever he wants then he still enforces his will on the people without any support of the congress.

If he is declared the winner, I suspect we’ll be counting the days, or perhaps weeks, until Obama congratulates him.
Let’s hope Bibi wins.
A victory for Bibi is a victory for the independent State of Israel and as our close friend and ally, a victory for the U.S., and a defeat for Obama whose losses are usually our gain and whose wins are usually our loss.

When the celebratory dust settles, I’ll be interested in seeing how Netanyahu 1. handles the wound injected today on Arab Israeli voters, 2. whether he walks back his “no two states” pledge or moves toward a one-state solution and 3. what he does about the cost of living in Israel.

With 99.5 percent of the ballots counted, Likud is increasing its lead with 29 Knesset seats, compared to the Zionist Union’s 24.
The Joint List, the third-largest party, gets 14 seats, followed by Yesh Atid with 11, Kulanu with 10, Habayit Hayehudi with eight, Shas and United Torah Judaism with seven each, Yisrael Beiteinu with six, and Meretz with four.

When I heard the great news I cried..I was and am so happy BiBi won..I thanked GOD..
